I disagree. Bruce abandoned y'all just so Steven could get a shot. However, while this might have been a rebuilding year with Bruce, he still would have had y'all firmly in play for the tournament, just like Tennessee and Bama in rebuilding years. Steven just isn't a good coach. The fix is simple: hire a real coach, not somebody's kid.

Yep, Bruce waited until right before the season to retire because by then the roster was intact for his son to have some success even though it was rebuilding year. Steven is just a bad coach. Bruce would likely have 3-4 more wins with this group.

I mean UK spent $22 million on their current roster and are struggling too.

Point is the team is not devoid of talent. There are enough pieces to be a 5-6 seed type team.

They have some individual talent, but not as a team. this team is a one and done in whatever tournament they play in.

Never has one school (State) been so happy when another school (Auburn) relieved us of our AD (John Cohen).
Selmon has done a very nice job at State as AD.

I mean a first time head coach has you on the bubble it's not the end of the world

the losses aren't horrible, except for like Michigan and Arizona but they are killing everybody

Steven took a team his dad built and isn't getting wins out of it now is that because Steven sucks or because big Pearl knew this team wasn't going to gel and got out while the getting is good?

we'll know more next year

edit: the MARGIN of losses aren't horrible

Our cheap arse boosters didn’t want to pony up and build a competent roster and he said I’m out of here. Bruce said live on air that we weren’t even in the ballpark for Yaxel Lendeborg.

If Bruce wasn’t happy, why would he let his son take over?

We still have a shot if we beat both UK and Bama. It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there.

He apparently got $3 million from Michigan. Auburn offered him $1 million.

Not auburn’s fault the kid didn’t want to be paid in chickens and yellawood. He’ll rethink that when he needs a coop that won’t rot.

Auburn only had money when it was illegal to pay players and they were more willing to cheat.

Now that paying players is legal, you all are nothing more than an AG school that plays second fiddle to the state university in a state with little money to begin with.

Your future is more akin to Mississippi State
