Stoops is ahead of Orgeron. Wow

I wasn't a huge fan of the O hire at LSU, but I do think he gets a lot of hate leftover from his Ole Miss days. It may or may not be founded, and this year is going to go a long way to putting those concerns to rest, or reinforcing them. He's made some decent moves talent wise over the summer, and did what he needed to retain the best DC in CFB, but the Ensminger hire (on paper) is a head scratcher.

We'll see this year.

It really is built off that one season at Stanford and his NFL record...but NFL =/= CFB. He's way overrated.

It's kind of mind-boggling. The summary for Harbaugh used his record at San Diego as support for his "strong track record". That's all well and good, but it illustrates how minimal his accomplishments are in CFB to this point, outside of the Orange Bowl season at Stanford.

And if leading a team to a Super Bowl matters that much in assessing him as a head coach, how the hell is Lovie Smith #102? Behind Matt Luke?

Athlon was like Bleacher Report before there was a Bleacher Report.

Jimbo ahead of Kirby?

Jimbo does have a national title and Kirby has been a head coach for two seasons. Is it really that hard to understand why he is ahead of Kirby at this point?

While Matt Luke is certainly too high on this list, I don’t get how Stoops is 66 unless it really is that impressive to go to a bowl at Kentucky, and I don’t get how Moorehead is ~20 spots ahead of guys who have actually coached, much less actually won, a game in a P5 conference, much less in the SEC

And while Mason isn’t that great of an overall coach, the job he’s done at Vanderbilt, particularly with their defense, should put him at least right around Orgeron

Depends. Is it a career achievement award, or is it supposed to be based on the present. Kirby is head and shoulders above Jimbo right now. If Tom Osborne came back today, would he be better than Jimbo? He has 3 nattys

Jimbo has 3 conference championships and a NC Ring. How many does Kirby have?

Jimbo is only 5 years removed from his natty, 3 years removed from the playoffs, and 2 years removed from 10 wins and a NY6 bowl win. He's clearly more accomplished and those accomplishments aren't that long ago.

Kirby Smart was 7-5 just 2 years ago. UGA lost a lot of talent and if not for a weak east schedule they could be 7-5 again.

So it is a lifetime achievement award. Fine.

Jimbo wins.

Jim Harbaugh at #9 is amusing. What has he accomplished to make the Top 10 other than hype?

I understand Jimbo over Kirby. Jimbo has a national championship and a CFP appearance under his belt.

But fricking Harbaugh over Kirby? Big fat lol

You're projected to win 10-11 games this year, but you play the 43rd easiest schedule. Auburn is the only true potentially great team you face this year. Maybe USC, maybe UF, maybe MU, and maybe LSU will be good, but its unlikely more than 1 or 2 of them will. If UGA were to trade schedules with A&M or LSU your expected win total would likely drop under 10.

Proven fact that if something is said enough times on tRant, that people will run with it like it is gospel.

Apparently UGA lost 70 seniors this past spring, and we're going to have to adjust to having a GHSA AA program running our offense and defense.

DIdn't yall lose 5 or 6 starters on defense and at least your star backs on offense. Everyone has turnover, but even talented rosters struggle to replace a lot of good players.
