Pete’s a good coach it’s still unknown whether or not he can sustain it.We know LK can build a program and consistently win 9-11 wins a year,he’s proven that.We don’t have a clue if Pete can maintain the high talent level.Maybee he will and OM prays he does.We will find out starting next season when the high caliber talent Lane recruited leaves.Good luck rebels.

At What Point Will You Admit You Were Wrong About Pete Golding

Give it a couple of years with his own players. It's still the team that Kiffin built.

I'll admit I was wrong when he wins without Chambliss.

Lane doesn't recruit
Lane flew out to visit Leavitt while he was on his tennessee visit. This is a bullshite take used by Ole Miss to downplay what Kiffin did for them.
Its fricking pathetic.

Golding and Kiffin are weirdly opposites i think. Golding better as HC than coordinator; Kiffin better as coordinator than HC.

If zole Miss finishes with one loss or less that's the bar IMHO on is he a good coach

Most likely long after Ole Miss fans admit they were wrong about him, but time will tell. Odds are far more likely Ole Miss wanders in the wilderness after Chambliss, who Golding no doubt had a role in retaining, than go on an impressive run of winning SEC and National Titles. Kiffin being at Tennessee and USC, both programs with far more impressive histories of winning at a high level than Ole Miss, played at least some part in their wandering through the wilderness. If Ole Miss escapes without a similar fall will be unusual, for Ole Miss to reverse a near program history long level of irrelevancy in CFB would be miraculous. Anyone other than Ole Miss fans would like nothing more for Kiffin's departure to send Ole Miss into a Tennessee level death spiral thus it is highly likely that most fans of most other programs will be calling for Goldings rentention long after Ole Miss fans are calling for his firing.
The exhaltation that Ole Miss are experiencing after dismantling LSU is well earned and deserved.....I think most CFB fans outside of LSU fans were hoping it would happen and are happy it did. It is not like, however, that LSU just pulled an App State / Michigan level upset. Ole Miss has beaten LSU in the past and will do so again. Many Ole Miss fans are acting as if they had never experienced a win against LSU.....

Lane kiffin has literally never won a single top 10 game in 10+ years of coaching
And, it pains me to point this out, had his best season ever with Chambliss at QB. Pete Golding has not won a single game as a head coach without Chambliss at QB. The more common element seems to be a near generational talent at QB instead of a head coach with a lifetime winning % lower than James Franklin or a HC who is in his first full season as a HC. I assume that Golding played a pivotal roll in Chambliss staying at Ole Miss....in this era of CFB that is a major part of the job every year as HC. He deserves all the credit in the world for that for certain....but there is a reason he is in his first HC gig, if nothing other than a lack of opportunity, but concluding that his record through 6 games is indicative of what his career will look like is just silly.

Do you honestly believe he had nothing to do with the current makeup of the team?

Where did I say that? All I'm saying is Pete probably had more.

Always liked Pete Golding, really down-to-earth good person, had no idea how he would perform as a head coach, but dam he did a great job, and i for one am extremely happy for him. And yes, big time LSU fan here.

I’ve always liked Pistol Pete, I just could never understand WTF he was doing with Will Anderson Jr.

And when it is all his I'll be on board 100 percent if it pans out. Don't see why this is a strange point of view.

Because your logic says that Lane was responsible for 100% of this roster and that's not true. He's responsible for less than 50%. It is well stated that Pete had full control over defense recruiting and Lane didn't even want to talk about defense. Lane also only gave defense a fraction of the NIL because he was more focused on his offense looking good.
