A vote for LSU as the best job in college football? That's nice

Yeah, now they're playing with semantics. Apparently booing your own coach and having the AD publicly plea for you not to doesn't put his seat at room temperature.

Not being a fan of LSU doesn't mean you dislike LSU and are cynical about all things LSU. The world doesn't revolve around yall.

The fact is that your fans booed your own coach and now all pretend he's the greatest and that everyone should be jealous. Whether you think that we should is irrelevant- it's the turnaround in your fanbase that is so remarkable.

Please try to comprehend what you said. You said LSU fans doubted Les more than fans of other schools. That's just wrong. Hardly any fans of other schools gave Miles any credit and they were all 100% sure LSU was headed down the drain once Saban's players graduated. Lots of LSU fans believed in Miles from day 1.

To answer honestly, I wouldn't want him.

He's obviously a good coach though.

When did he become the head coach at Texas?

Damn, someone already beat me to this.

You do have a coach with more national titles.

Not to mention Miles is a Michigan guy.

but there have been times where he has made some very questionable decisions on the sideline.

absolutely, any coach that makes questionable decisions and has lost football games is not a very good coach.

loser talk. losers like to view others as lucky, have an easier road, etc, etc. it'a a ego defense mechanism to cover up real or imagined shortcomings. c'mon dude, man up! face your situation and don't worry about others. just sayin'.

everyone knows all the coaches at LSU have been successful. There's nothing to it. A cave man could do it.

I'd love to know how you, an Ole Miss, could possibly say this -- or any fan. By and large, the national perception of Les is that he's a bumbling idiot...who wins.

I'm not sure how a coach with multiple SEC titles and a national title is "overrated" when the nation sees him as an idiot...with a near 82% win percentage.

I wouldn't want him at UGA over Richt, either. Don't need UGA improving any to strengthen the East.

The people who doubted and hated Les the most were LSU fans. Don't pretend otherwise.

so that's your impression. it is not fact. there were many, if not most, that did not doubt him and certainly the vast majority that did not hate him. however, i understand how you got that impression; most internet message boards are dominated by young people that have and take the time to sit in front of a computer and express themselves. and these same young people are quite demanding and certainly not the measure of how an entire fanbase feels.

Are you serious? Les>JLS. Easiest case to make in the conference.

At this point if you told me Bill Belichick had a chimpanzee and that chimpanzee was in on team meetings...i would hire him as interim. At least people would expect him to throw shite on the field.

Is right.

A large segment of our fan base was enraged at Miles after the Ole Miss game in 09. It got completely insane around here after the Tenn game in 2010. I have never heard more irate fans on sports talk radio in BR and NOLA in my life than the week after those two games.

It took a lot of our fans 3 years and a National Title to accept him in 2007.

Now our fans have finally figured him out and understand the genius behind the madness. But, it took a whole lot of them 7 years to figure him out.

Miles is a great recruiter who only recruits guys who he sees in person and fit his scheme. He is a master motivator who knows how to unite young men into a family unit, that will follow him through thick or thin. He hires great assistants and is highly loyal to them.

Miles is a very good leader and knows how to develop hard nose, physical players that play hard for him. He has well documented weaknesses, but they pale in comparison to his strengths.

A big issue for me is that LSU seemed to sleepwalk in games against lesser opponents, leading to some bad losses and a bunch of close calls. Clock management also appears to be an issue for him. I also used to argue that he was living off of Saban's recruits.

However, Saban's players are long gone, and he still has LSU at an elite level. He has also done very well against the top teams and in the conference. If LSU continues to handle the less talented teams like last year and so far this year, it's going to be pretty hard to argue against him. I still have to assume he's not great with clock management, but LSU has been so good it hasn't really mattered at all.
