Is right.

A large segment of our fan base was enraged at Miles after the Ole Miss game in 09. It got completely insane around here after the Tenn game in 2010. I have never heard more irate fans on sports talk radio in BR and NOLA in my life than the week after those two games.

It took a lot of our fans 3 years and a National Title to accept him in 2007.

Now our fans have finally figured him out and understand the genius behind the madness. But, it took a whole lot of them 7 years to figure him out.

Miles is a great recruiter who only recruits guys who he sees in person and fit his scheme. He is a master motivator who knows how to unite young men into a family unit, that will follow him through thick or thin. He hires great assistants and is highly loyal to them.

Miles is a very good leader and knows how to develop hard nose, physical players that play hard for him. He has well documented weaknesses, but they pale in comparison to his strengths.

that's only half of the argument, why dont you produce some evidence of other teams fan's giving Miles some credit pre 2011. Obviously not all LSU fans liked him and I personally know people who still hate him and always will. That doesn't mean the majority does.

You said LSU fans doubted Les more than the fans of rival schools and that is laughable. No one that dislikes LSU gave Miles a snowballs chance in hell of producing at LSU. Anyone who says otherwise is making shite up.

no he's not.

He's claiming fans from other fanbases had more faith in Miles than LSU fans did. Complete BS. It's laughable really. Miles was larry coker 2.0, and would be fired shortly after Saban's recruits graduated because they were the only reason he won, at least according to 99% of the SEC fans on tigerdropings back in the day.

Not being a fan of LSU doesn't mean you dislike LSU and are cynical about all things LSU. The world doesn't revolve around yall.

The fact is that your fans booed your own coach and now all pretend he's the greatest and that everyone should be jealous. Whether you think that we should is irrelevant- it's the turnaround in your fanbase that is so remarkable.

I certainly would, at least at this point. Muschamp is still an unknown.

This is pretty hilarious -- but typical -- shite. You fact-boom LsuTool and he immediately starts to split hairs and prevaricate. Classic.

I am a hard core LSU fan but if I was a Bama fan I would know I had a better coach and a better fit for Bama in Saban. Saban is the best coach in the country then there is everybody else including Les. As far as the rest of the SEC programs there is no evidence that Les can build a program from the bottom up the way Saban can. His record at Okie State was decent but Gundy has outdone Miles in his time there. If Miles is at Mississippi State or Ole Miss I say he wouldn't do much there. LSU needs Miles but Miles needs LSU just as much. I don't think Miles would have restored Michigan to a National Power either.

If Saban were at Miss St or Ole Miss, I don't think he would do much there either. Not to the level of what he's done at Bama.

No. Not at the same level, but he would have them as a regular bowl team and an occasional threat to win the division until he got to a better program where he would do what he's done at Bama.

I was originally unsure of Miles hire. The best I could tell he beat OU twice with less talented teams, that seemed to be the biggest accomplishment. I was sold on the last play of 3rd quarter in Canes bowl game. The trick play worked after UM was already hammered and he was laughing and having a good time on the sidelines. He wasn't laughing at the Canes so much as just enjoying what he was doing. That moment also told me he was a shark. As affable and laid back as he comes across, he's a shark, and in this league you'd better be. The 09 OM and 10 UT games was head scratching and frustrating but I've only been disappointed in him once: throwing JJ under the bus after the 2010 UT game. A low point hopefully never repeated. I only doubted him and his continued tenure here once: the time period between 2010 end of season and Crowton moving on. Had he retained Crowton I most likely would be part of the camp that would be hoping for a new HC. At this point my hope is that he stays till retirement, hopefully atound 2020.

Do you equate the idiots on this board for all LSU fans? The only way what you say to be true is that.

Are you bringing in some radio callers into your assertion as well? Because that would also be stupid.

I'm not sure what your point is, and it isn't based on fact. But I'm heartened to know an opposing fan has a better feel for LSU fans feelings about Les.

Keep posting please.

I think Les Miles is pretty overrated as a football coach. He can certainly recruit, but there have been times where he has made some very questionable decisions on the sideline.

Dude was on the hot seat in LSU land. I'm not saying other people didn't poke fun at him but the turn around in support for him in the LSU community is more noteworthy than the magnitude of any trash-talking that came from outside.

Les Miles was never on the hot seat. Not even close. In his tenure he has won a a sec west title in his 1st, 3rd ,7th with winning bowl games in every year(bcs bowl in his 2 nd year) but 7th and 5th year. Only dumb rantards thought his seat was hot. His worst season in 8-4 while starting a redshirt fresh at qb.

He was on the hotseat in blogosphere bubba land. In the real adult world (LSU AD office), his job has never been questioned, not once, save the UM enticements to leave.

Exactly. His seat wasn't even room temp. Te AD loves Miles and knows that he runs a top notch football program WHILE having one of the highest grad rates in the conf.

Chizik
Franklin
Sumlin
Spurrier
Saban
Richt
Muschamp
Mullen

Would be as good or better at LSU than Miles.

Well this summer you were retarded.

Yeah I didnt even acknowledge that shite post. He is a Miss St fan. I'll ask his opinion if I wanna know how to make love to a cowbell or how to avoid suicide when my team is inferior to ole miss. Until then....

Saban could build a program from the ground all the way to the top, IMO. I bet if you were to replace Nutt with Saban at Ole Miss, they'd win the west in somethin like 4-5 years. Top players want to play for him cause he bout guarantees wins.
I'll keep les though, him and chavis alone are what's holding lsu together at the top. For some reason I don't see him leaving for a long time either!
