So a school with a history of getting blasted by sec teams wouldn't want the consensus #2 coach from the sec? That's asinine. Whether osu is already successful is irrelevant
I''m pretty sure while he was in the SEC, Meyer was tops with Saban. Sure, you all downgrade him now that Florida sucks, but
UM was the coach that beat the ever loving shite out of us in a NC game against tSEC.

I would stick with Mullen. Mullen is the perfect fit for our program as it stands.
He even looks like a Mississippian.

He also bolted on UF because tebow graduated and they sucked. Miles stuck with LSU during the JJ/Lee years. That means something in my book. Urban is a good X and O coach and recuiter, but he's a slimeball that quit on UF.

Agreed. Leave for health reasons just to eventually take a job at one of the most lucrative/demanding programs in the country.
Piece. Of. shite.

LSU always had the talent, we never had the coaching. Recruiting wasn't the problem at LSU before Saban. That's why it's funny people say Miles has an easy job at LSU.... ignorant, but funny.
GTFO, the talent on hand when saban got there wasn't even close to the talent miles inherited. Everyone knows it you just enjoy being a contrarian. Sure LSU has always had talent, but miles inherited a team that was talented 3 deep across the board. Y'all hate admitting what saban did for Lsu. The best players in louisiana in the 90's were going all over the place, FSU-Miami- Notre dame etc. Saban got there and put a fence around the state and made Lsu a national brand. Maybe miles could have done the same, who knows..but I think there are a lot of coaches that could have gotten the Lsu job when saban left and be doing just as well as Les is doing

No thanks, we obviously prefer mediocrity.

Good luck justifying someone other than miles

DiNardo put up the fence and couldn't coach em up. Saban in all honesty did not do as good of a job here as he did in the first 5 years of Alabama, only 2 10+ win seasons, one of which is a Natty winning year.

Saban won the SEC in his second year at LSU. He had talent. It just doesn't fit the narrative that Saban can make something out of nothing.

He inherited talent from a coach who would have still been around if he would have just sent his DC packing.

Chizik is garbage. With the 4 years of Lee/Jefferson, Chiz would have lost way more games than Miles did.
8/5
9/4
11/2
13/1
Under no circumstances does Chiz pull that off. He has been recruiting his arse off the past few years and now has the worst Auburn team that i remember (I'm 29). He will be an afterthought after next season.

Yep. Funny to think Leslie almost followed the same path. Loyalty is great until Tepper and Crowton get you fired.

I think you misread my post. I am agreeing with this. LSU always brought in talent, but our best players left the state (I'm still wondering how the frick Dinardo lost out on Ed Reed) - but Saban had a very good team when he came to LSU. Davey, Reed, Toefield, Davis, Clark, James, Faulk, Allen..etc.. I'm not saying it was the same caliber as what Miles took over, but it was still a really good team - I don't understand why that pisses you off so much

When one worships coaches like it is going out of style, one will buck anything that shatters the illusion of complete responsibility for winning.

That's not even a response to what I said. Saban inherited some talent, Miles inherited a roster full of talent and top 5 classes. There is a difference
