LSU has been to the CWS 18 times in the past 35 years. They've won 6 national championships and played for another 5 years ago.
This was Ole Miss's second CWS appearance in 50 years. It was the first time they have played for national championship in any men's sport in decades...maybe longer. For their fans this was a MASSIVE event. The school is unlikely to play for a football or basketball championship ever. So it you are an Ole Miss fan this was your shot to see history for your school. That's why their fans flooded Omaha.
For LSU, as pretentious as it sounds, thousands of fans have already "done Omaha", multiple times, and seen multiple championships. That's in addition to seeing LSU play for 4 football championships (winning 3). Thus, there isn't as much "novelty" for LSU fans as there was for OM fans

Lots of cuties in short white skirts - must be an Old Piss thing. Didn't even realize they have that much talent in the state of Mississippi.

They don’t. Majority of the student body at ole miss comes from out of state. Just like Bama.
Makes sense.

The ONLY schools who would have huge crowds in a championship series at Omaha are: LSU, Arkansas, State, and Ole Miss. Texas and maybe A&M would have a good crowd but not a dominant crowd.

I can’t recall our fans being this rowdy at the CWS.
WAT?! It’s widely known that LSU is Omaha's favorite team outside of Nebraska. There is a reason for that.

Don’t leave mad. One more response. All Tiger fans are united. Some are dumber than others but united just the same.

You can add Nebraska to that list, but we all know that will NEVER happen.

Its the ONLY Championship that Ole Miss fans have been able to cheer for in 60-70 years. Unlike OM, Oklahoma wins championships in lots of sports.
Im sure finally having a team that might actually be the BEST at something motivated the OM fans to show up.

Well, I see some mod decided to push this from the TigerRant. Nice insight into your thoughts that day.

There are four SEC teams that flood Omaha; LSU, State, Arky, and now Ole Miss. I don't think anyone else in the conference could take over that town like we all have.

This thread is TD in a nutshell.
And to OP-Oklahoma didn’t even sell out its 700 ticket allotment.

2017 was 80/20 LSU.
And yet..............
But to your point, Gator fans will not travel outside of the state in large numbers for any sport. We suck at supporting the teams.

I love it when you can just tell an admin dumped a shitty Tiger Rant thread to the SEC Rant

We have been to two sugar bowls also. Some cotton bowls also. Two of those New Years six bowls along with the baseball Natty so that’s not too bad and pretty close in football to a chance to be in the playoffs and a Natty right?

Meh, when you’ve never won anything it’s a big deal.
There’s a difference in supporting a team in the cws and supporting a team that is 10-42.
