Actually they do and they did here but none of it involved Auburn football. They had potential charges against some state officials - Troy King in particular. He was so sure he was getting charged he made sure his senior staff knew what to do if the FBI showed up at the AG’s office and took him away.
They walked away when they lost Milton. Most likely for a combination of reasons. First being that Milton was the big target and when they lost him there was a what’s the point of going forward kind of attitude. Another factor was that Joyce Vance had taken over as US attorney in the northern district and she and Matt Hart were not compatible. He’d been the drive behind all those corruption convictions and with him gone that office all but stopped prosecuting public corruption cases.
Now, having said that, none of that mattered in relation to ATPB. The feds didn’t give a shiat about Auburn football. They were after Milton and the elected officials that were working for him.

Its actually somewhat satisfying to see that a very few people left in this insane world actually still DO get it.
