Or maybe because the Manziels can lawyer up like no one they've ever had to deal with before and basically sue them to death.
Other than the fact that the NCAA is 1007908240732498734972930512651098645968-0 in court.

Don't even get me started with the link bullshite or you will end up with about 50 articles about ttowns menswear.
No one that followed that with any sense thinks Julio, Trent, and Ingram did not get paid for signing all that crap.
And if you do not think bama higher ups and boosters were about to shite on themselves, you have no clue. I know that personally straight from a significant booster who has been around the program 30 years. Told my parents at their house in Orange Beach a lot of people including himself were very worried and there was no doubt they got benefits for signing stuff.

My point is that either way, there's a solid chance that he could end up sitting games even if he's not found ineligible.

NCAA investigations don't involve lawyers.
Wut?

That is an interesting point. The family's total value is well into the 8 figures. I would imagine a huge lawsuit from dirty east Texas mafia lawyers is something they want to avoid.

I have a buddy that works in the SEC office and he says this is more than likely appealed and the NCAA investigation has been ongoing and he told me he has no idea since there is really no precedence for 5 figures for autographs. Green got suspended but the penalty was harsher because he didn't comply, he has no idea how well everyone has been compliant but he did say the NCAA called and told their office they had a lot of evidence and a ruling should come soon.

How stupid are you? The NCAA spends millions yearly in court and legal fees and they lose on issues every single year.
Dumb arse gump.

How late did the NCAA start investigating Cam Newton? If the NCAA didn't start this shindig until June on this, it's possible he may eventually not be found eligible but they might have to sit him just to err on the side of caution.
That's why I'd like to know when they started the investigation, I can realistically see them ruling him ineligible for a few games until the investigation is finished.

And like you said, is the NCAA taking their sweet arse time to make sure they cross the t's and dot the i's because of their previous frick ups?
I think emmert will make sure this ones done thoroughly. If they frick up again he's gone

This story would only make sense if Manziel was poor.
I don't think so... Rich kids seem to do stuff like this because dad doesn't share enough of the wealth in their view.

It doesn't matter if he comes from a wealthy family. Let's say he got 50,000. Do you think his parents would just give him 50 grand if he asked? Probably not. Sign a bunch of autographs and get a bunch of money that he can frick off with however he pleases.

1: Not true
2: They've never been sued by a private entity as rich as the Manziel's. School and public lawsuits cant go where private lawyers can.
It wont happen, but it's interesting to think about.
