Like I said, you are enjoying this a bit too much. The odds of him being ruled ineligible for the whole season are very small. The odds of a suspension for a set number games is however a possibility.
There is absolutely no punishment in the school's future like at OSU.

You people are the reason news outlets are getting lazier and lazier throwing this crap out there -- you just eat it up hook, line, and sinker.
Get real. Assuming he was somehow impaired enough to risk throwing away his eligibility for somewhere between $10-$99k (just says "five figures") - you think there's actually a contract? A deposit slip? A witness to the exchange?

Pretty unreal how that investigation transpired
Absolutely. Those guys could frick up a wet dream at this point.
That said, this is the last thing Sumlin needs for this team. Even if nothing comes of it he can't keep him team in a bubble and this is one huge, huge distraction.

Right now you should be hoping that Sumlin stays well clear of this or you could lose more than your QB...

So Sumlin was selling Johnny's auto, too?
If Sumlin got wind of this and didn't report it, both he and A&M could be in a world of hurt.

If I'm an Aggie, I'm hoping for that crew that investigated the U.
Unfortunately for the Aggies, frickups like the one that happened at the U result in changes and oversight which pretty much ensure that there isn't a repeat.

Also highly unlikely that an investigation will be completed before the season starts. JFF will play at least half the season.
They'll suspend him during the investigation, broseph smith.
