I agree with all of that. But you can only be SO prepared for a qb with no meaningful snaps

When a defense has not prepared for a quarterback they have basically never seen before, it’s difficult to expect them to have as much success against him as the guy they have been preparing for already.

I generally agree with this, except UGA had one DB who seemed really weak in coverage. I don't think extra preparation would have helped him all that much.

I really didn't notice him much against Oklahoma, but I bet if I went back and watched he's a big part of why their otherwise excellent defense gave up 50 in that game.

Your receivers were better than our DBs. Your Oline was better than our Dline. Your freshman QB was the best player in the building. Your coach is the greatest of all time. We got our asses whipped. Straight up.

This.

Our defense had shown itself to be vulnerable several times this year and every one of those issues got exploited for the entire 2nd half. We will have better talent in years to come, the 2017 Dawgs gave everything they had and it wasn’t enough, almost but not there yet.

You sure you aren’t a stalker? I keep ignoring you, but you keep coming back. Is there a reason why I take up so much space in your head?

A long way from being there. This Bama team is one of the worst Saban has had. Definitely his worst team to win a national title. We were no where close to championship level in the secondary. Lacking an elite player on the d line. Oline young, undersized, and physically mismatched.

Your thread made me laugh so much that I bookmarked it. Now every time I see you cry (often) it reminds me of this wonderful bookmark. Stop crying so much and I may forget it exists.

They had a good bit if film on tua, he played a bunch in the middle of the year. Kirby even said they had prepared for him and expected that he was going to come in at halftime

We run those same pass plays and routes with Jalen he just steps out of the pocket and then takes off running with the ball before the play develops. He would have never even thrown the ball last night on the three TD’s Tua has.

Jalen is a good kid and a great athlete but he will not play a significant role In the offense again at QB unless Tua gets hurt.

Meant that despite a that, they played so hard and almost won it all.

We are 2-3 years or more of recruiting like this year from matching up with Bama on a pure talent standpoint.

His lower body strength is FAR superior.

You're saying Tua has a stronger lower body than Hurts? If so, fuuuuck no. If I'm misunderstanding, I'm sorry.

Except Bama has a decade head start, and contrary to the hopes and dreams of tRant, Saban ain't retiring or leaving anytime soon, and he has not lost his recruiting edge. Georgia will be hard pressed to "get over the hump" as long as Saban is alive.

It's hard not to get excited afterall that was a pretty good D and a pretty big stage. Still I think it's unreasonable to expect him to look like that every game.

Well, if it makes you feel better, you can temper your excitement and expectations by noting that he played very well and won the game for Bama, but he certainly made some boneheaded freshman mistakes. He wasn't perfect by any stretch. That help bring you down to where you feel more comfortable?

That's a fair bit of salt for such an inocuous post.

I probably should have replied to the OP rather than you. The whole "OMG, he was so good that now we're going to be a little screwed next fall" vibe was just silly.

That wasn’t my vibe at all. My vibe was, I think the kids amazing but maybe not heisman winning amazing yet. Nothing more nothing less.

Whoever was laughing about the lower body strength comment, Jalen is stout, but even herby was talking about it last night. Tua’s upper legs are insanely robust. Lol
