Jalen is a weight lifting champion. He squated 600lbs . Tua has a strong lower body, but he's not even in the same realm as Jalen as far as lower body strength. He is more compact and has a lower center of gravity though.

There's a reason they weren't running those plays with Jalen

Worst case scenario is that he's Dobbs and will take until his senior year to really develop as a passer but even in the meantime he'll be a great player. BUT you have a QB coach no? AND you don't have Butch Jones. People forget Dobbs was came in pro-style and LEARNED to run because our OL blew. He developed the habit of having his head on a swivel which hurt his biggest issue: setting his feet win passing.

BUT Tua show all the arm talent in the world.

FWIW, he's the only QB recently that made me say "oh frick." Fromm, Bentley et all are good but Tua is better.

Does anyone stop to think that maybe the playcalls were different because they are different players? Maybe Daboll's dumbed down play calling was due to how limited Jalen's skill set is. As soon as Tua went in the game the offense opened up because his talent allows you to be able to do that. He can do more than 1 route reads and QB runs.

They were insanely different. I commented more than once that the playcalling changed immensely once Tua was in.

It was clear that Daboll did not trust Hurts and wasn't as good as Kiffin in terms of finding ways to make him look good. Also, Bama's O AND D responded to the change even after Tua messed up.

Saban is leaving after three more season or possibly after one more NC, whichever comes first!
