As much as I would like to gush over Tua, I think there were other forces at play

We ran plays with Tua and threw passes with Tua That we would not have ran with Jalen. When a defense has not prepared for a quarterback they have basically never seen before, it’s difficult to expect them to have as much success against him as the guy they have been preparing for already.
With that said, the raw talent and leadership shown from Tua still looked far superior. I just don’t believe the difference is as huge as it looked in the game because of those extenuating circumstances.
One bright side though, defensive coordinators will not have much to go on to prepare for him next year so maybe the sophomore slump won’t be as bad as Jalens. The downside is that the kid only played one half of football and now everyone knows to expect him next year. So they know he’s coming, they just don’t have a lot of college film to look at.
Regardless of anything else though, his legend will be exponentially exaggerated by kick off this fall. I hope the kid can live up or else it’s gonna be a rough year for him. Our fanbase is toxic. Luckily we aren’t as toxic towards our players as LSU fans but still toxic nonetheless.

Good Lord. We just won a national championship for the 5th time in 9 years. Can’t you chill the frick out and enjoy it? Things will work themselves out.

It's hard not to get excited afterall that was a pretty good D and a pretty big stage. Still I think it's unreasonable to expect him to look like that every game.

Um, I’m chill as frick. I just had an opinion. I’m enjoying the frick out of it. I’m sorry my post triggered you though. Is there anything I can do to soothe your pain?

Kaptin let’s back up a bit.
Regale us more with your high level inside sauces on Cam Newtons impending sanctions.
Eh eh eh

Kirby said they were well prepared for Tua and were not surprised when he went into the game.

O.o
I’m quite sure you’ve never heard me quote any level access other than one or two particular instances completely unrelated to Cam Newton and only because I happened to know someone (not affiliated with the program in any way that I can remember) involved.
If you’re pointing to my join date, well, a lot of people joined during that season as this board got a lot of free advertising and that was a hot topic. I still say he was paid. But we all pay players. If you ain’t cheating you ain’t tryin. It’s still fun when little brother is sitting in the principals office though.
/end responding to stupid tangent

For all of you Jalen nuthuggers

Well prepared for a quarterback they’ve only seen play mopup duty? Ok. So they saw him run clock bleeding offense. We were running come from behind. It’s different.
I’m not saying the kid ain’t good, he’s amazing and I’ve been gushing all day IRL. But I try to be more level headed on the board..... well, when I’m not melting over something. xD

Tua is a much better passer than Jalen and not much worse of a runner. The only thing Jalen had going for him over Tua was experience and better at managing the game because of it.

They may have prepared for Tua but not well. Otherwise he wouldn't have worn their asses out like that.

Not a nuthugger, I stopped watching at halftime and told my buddy to text me when he put Tua in. My blood pressure couldn’t handle anymore.
I didnt miss much and was quite happy to hear I could tune back in.

Jim Chaney and Malcolm Parrish helped BAMA in the 2nd half too.
But Tua was incredible. He took the shots that Jalen wouldn’t or couldn’t take.

I agree with all of this except I’m not convinced Tua is a worse runner. I’ll need to see more. His lower body strength is FAR superior. His Lower body proportions remind me a lot of lacy. Tree trunk legs and a butt like a quarter horse

Pappanastos would have easily survived the Bama fanbase if Bama lost last night

Sadly, some people can't do that. They have to worry themselves sick over nothing. They know no other way.

Kirby said they were prepared and went into half expecting the change.
Your receivers were better than our DBs.
Your Oline was better than our Dline.
Your freshman QB was the best player in the building.
Your coach is the greatest of all time.
We got our asses whipped. Straight up.
