I feel like they are having one of the best years of SEC sports ever and are doing so under the radar. They get ridiculed for the LSU loss in football and the San Diego St loss in basketball, but they have been dangerously close to something pretty amazing.
As much as it pains me to say it... UF kind of has this locked up.
They won football in 2006. They won basketball in 2006 and 2007 (depending on how you count the "years" you could take either). While their baseball team was down, national championships in the top 2 sports in the same year is the bar.

It restores a little of my faith in humanity, and this place, to see fans of other teams if not rallying behind Alabama, at least tipping their cap to them instead of wishing another tornado on Tuscaloosa. There is too little of the former, and too much of the latter around here. This is a good thread in a sea of trash.

While UGA isn't a rival for Bama, I generally only wish for Bama to lose when it comes to football because Bama has been at the top of the pile for so long.
No real animosity toward them for other sports.
Similar to how I feel about UK for basketball. I hope they suck on the hardwood, but I like seeing them do well at other sports.
The only schools I really want to see do bad at everything are UF and GT. Even Auburn doing well at sports other than football doesn't bother me.

This team has a real shot. If they weren’t up against WF i’d say they’d have a very high chance at the CWS which is outstanding. Cheering for them as this is a hell of a story

Now we have to decide whether to make the interim coach who has done so well the head coach or bring in someone else. It will be interesting.

I agree, you gotta give credit where credit is due.

In my opinion, AD's should never do that. The amount of times it works is small enough that it's not worth the gamble unless the coach would have been hired without the coach being a guy who might have been hired without interim success.
The only time I remember that working for any sport would be Dabo Swinney, but I kind of feel like that's an "exception proving the rule" case.

I'm not sure who the interim coach/staff is, but they deserve a lot of kudos as well....

Agreed. I experienced a little of the latter myself in Nov. 2005 in Tuscaloosa. Hard to just forget but it is in the past.
