I like the Mendoza kid. He grew up in Miami. Everything is coming full circle for him.

Yep, sounds like a modern day "Christian".

You're really focusing on the ways of Jesus. I can tell.

Nice Biblical term, I guess.

I'm assuming you believe Indiana is and Miami isn't.

Judge much?!

You beat me to it. There's no rational thought or logic with these types of lunatics.

Can see your point but that stuff's clearly made for TV. I know a lot of Mormons. None of them are like that. I guess I can only speak from my own experience.

Give him some slack. He's probably Catholic.

I don't think any denomination at present can be proud of the way they represent the teachings of Jesus. They are all equally hypocritical and sanctimonious. Jesus had his temptations and he might be tempted to bitch slap all churches but, of course, he's better than that.

you probably think that verse is saying you should not pray publicly or talk about God in public. And of course, you'd be wrong. Always amazes how people don't get the message because they don't see the context.

Being open about your faith is not being a hypocrite.

I can’t stand when small teams come out of nowhere and do good.

Herbstreit tonight..

“This LB here. Nobody wanted him out of high school. He was not on anyone’s radar. His only offer was a community college in Quebec. He believes in himself, he practiced hard, he developed his craft. He was finally able to get noticed by -insert name- and signed with Southern Auburn. He never missed a practice, he ate nails for breakfast. He paid his dues and now he’s come together with a bunch of players like him and Indiana. It’s just a bunch of guys who got overlooked.”

Rinse and repeat that same story for every God damn player on the team.

You could make a drinking game out of it tonight.

It’s gross and unnecessary in the context of sports and games. God‘s got bigger fish to fry.

You’re not wrong on this. I definitely will admit that we have done more wrong over time than any other denomination. I guess I’m just old school and see a lot of people professing to be “Christians” and not doing anything that shows that that’s where their heart and faith really are. I mostly am just annoyed when people have to profess their denomination or religion as some qualifier and I’m sick of seeing players go out of their way to kneel in front of cameras. Either way, was meant to be a bit tongue-in-cheek but I’ll admit, I came off as harsh and judgy. Breaking rules of the Book myself.

Being open about your colon health isn’t being a hypocrite either, but I wouldn’t recommend posting about it to the sports board.

I’ll tell ya what is hypocritical though:

Well said. I think we can all agree that that OT board material no matter how we each feel.

When they were about to burn him at the stake, the Christians asked Hatuey if he would like to be baptized so he could go to Heaven.

"[Hatuey], thinking a little, asked the religious man if [Christians] went to heaven. The religious man answered yes… The chief then said without further thought that he did not want to go there but to hell so as not to be where they were and where he would not see such cruel people. This is the name and honor that God and our faith have earned.

Exactly, and the team is also bought and paid for by a godless billionaire

It’s using the lord’s name in vain, as they like to say….the praying and thanking, etc.

Blasphemy of the highest order.
