He is a good hire but Kiffin and Leach would have been better . I don’t think he is any better of a hire then Jimbo , Mullen and Kelly.

And Norvell took his team to 10-2 and a chance at a conference championship. He wasn't my first choice either but would've been better

I liked Norvell but he had the luxury of inheriting a good team already from Fuente, Morris took over a dumpster fire.

Really mediocre hire, not sure why anyone would be excited about hiring a guy whose best season was 7-5, you just fired your 7-5 coach.

Well Bielema had a great record when we hired him and that turned out horribly. It's a crapshoot. Don't know who would have a good season at SMU playing Memphis, Navy and UCF.

Do people here not know how bad SMU was when he took over? June Jones literally quit recruiting his last two years.

Leach would have been more entertaining but he hates to run the ball consistently. One thing Arkansas seems to produce in abundance is talented RBs so giving up on that aspect of the game wouldn't have made much sense.

Its a good hire.

Texas is wide open recruiting territory right now. UT is down and wears god awful ugly orange shirts.

Nobody who likes women wants to go to A&M and fill up jars, nor do we want them anyway. Sure there's been a blip in the force post Petrino, but every A&M fan knows who their daddy is historically. With our societal degradation over the past decade, gheyness has become a bit more acceptable, direclty correlating with A&M's improved recruiting, but there is a ceiling on that.

OU can only take 15-20 from Texas and there's a lot more than that.

Memphis has outscored SMU by a total of 180-52 in Morris' tenure at SMU. 45 of those points came this year when the Tigers decided not to field a defense. Good luck Arkansas

As a bonus if he succeeds us Aggies will spend the rest of our lives talking about the coach we let slip through our fingers as we chased our vanity.
And if we don't win the SEC West/SEC soon, LSU fans will talk about all the coaches that were never even interviewed outside of Jimbo in 2015 (He had a deal with LSU but it was nixed by the University President) and Herman in 2016. (Alleva bolted the talks early after Herman started talking with Texas, didn't interview anybody else and then just hired Orgeron. )

O's not doing too bad so far, but everybody still not sure what the future holds with him............

I like the hire. I think he fits with what Arky has to do to succeed given the recruiting limitations.

i was mad b/c i am a big Norvell fan for a few years now , especially all this year. But honestly, this hire has the highest floor and still a solid ceiling. Even if it doesnt work out, he'll leave us in better shape than he found us, I think, as we will re-establish our Texas ties like the good ole days. AD from Houston and HC from Dallas, plus Morris is really good with the High School coaches. He relates to them better than 99% of college coaches.

Nebraska made the best hire of the season, nitwit. Id say Memphis did. they got Norvell resigned even with all three of their border states having an SEC job open... arkansas (his dream job), tennessee, and both mississippis. For only 3M per. WELL PLAYED, Memphis. Ya'll will win the AAC west again next year.

This. People poopooing this hire are ignorant about Morris.

A couple of SMU and Clemson posters have provided some good info on Morris on the coaching changes board.

Chad Morris is the real deal and a perfect fit at Arky. Great hire. Just need to get an excellent DC and staff too.

Arky's best chance in Texas is if we take over the state and yall ride our coattails ala OU.

Moorehead, Fisher and Mullen were all better hires, but it's definitely a good hire.
