I have a friend who is a diehard fan of one of the 2 schools listed. He is convinced that one is a better job than the other. While they are both towards the bottom of the SEC, I agree one is better than the other but we disagree on which it is. Without trolling, which is the better job between Ole Miss and Arkansas?

Ole Miss.

Now... and in the future. Arkansas doesn't necessarily have a higher ceiling.

Right now Ole Miss but traditionally (in my biased opinion) Arkansas has better facilities, money and more trips to Atlanta. Both have really good fan support and recruit around the same.

At the end of the day they are pretty similar.

Even as an Ole Miss fan ... I would say historically it would have to be Arkansas. Primarily do to the endowment available and the fact that they are the only football team in the state.

Edit: On a side note f*ck Woo Pig they can all rot in hell! Matt Jones too ... especially f*ck that dude!

P.S. please don't tell the wife I said ^^^

One hired one of the biggest names in coaching who by all indication has grown up and has a massive chip on his shoulder

The other had to hire a 58 year old career offensive line coach

You tell me

Ole Miss has more name "prestige" today. Relatively speaking and all.

I would say the school that has actually been to the conference title.

But I don't blame the youngin's for picking Ole Miss. They have definitely been more relevant within the last 5 years or so.

We have been ranked within the top 3 within the last 8 years... seems like an eternity ago that our infamous coach fell off his motorcycle.

8 years ago I would say Arkansas.

Today it is Ole Miss.

Both programs are of similar stature with each having a few pro's and con's. It's a fluid argument depending on how the schools are doing at the time.

We just happened to be cursed at the moment.

I normally am not biased enough to claim that it’s Ole Miss and would say Arkansas (although I do think we have a few natural advantages such as recruiting territory)

However, this year taking into account numerous circumstances around both schools Ole Miss was the better job. It shouldn’t be controversial or make anyone butthurt, it just is what it is.

On SEC Network one commentator said Arkansas was just above Vanderbilt in job attractiveness. i.e., second hardest place to win in SEC. Not totally sure I buy that, but that is what he thought.

I think it was easier for Arkansas to recruit Texas when they played all the Texas schools when in Southwest Conference. Arkansas is the most remote place to recruit to - furthest from fertile recruiting grounds.

Historically superior to any Mississippi school as a program though.

Ole Miss.

Arky has the history, but Ole Miss has better access to more recruits, and they seem committed financially to building a program that contends. Arkansas seems to be trending down in that regard as time goes by. Ole Miss is the better job today and going forward.

It's definitely Arkansas. The only thing making anyone say otherwise is recency bias. Hugh Freeze was the last success between both schools. But when you look at both from a historical perspective, it's really not even close.

Fat Bert and Chaggie just ran us down at a record setting rate.
