That's actually one of the main reasons our endowment is bigger, we keep it as much out of the state legislator's hands as we can. Arkansas state politics is corrupt, but Louisiana's is just downright retarded. Nothing scares private investment away faster than politicians trying to vulture power.

It's more than the current political structure. It's where budget cuts are permitted to be made in Louisiana per our constitution and the four-year higher education structure in LA. It's things that have been in place forever, make us less competitive, and are politically dire for anyone willing to take them up. Unfortunate but I don't know how it will change. Too many small arse towns reliant on the four-year school to have it change from a political standpoint.

I remember when I was at A&M, there was a fundraising campaign from 2000-06 for "Vision 2020" . They raised 1.5 billion. There has been a boom of building at A&M since then.

Exactly, what is going on at Arkansas since we raised $1 billion a few years ago. The growth, which helps the athletic program in the future, is direct relationship to that fundraising and can be viewed on and around campus.

Glad to hear that Arkansas is doing well in supporting the reason we have schools in the first place: higher education

Luckily for us our year isn't up yet. We'll hit 109mm by the end of the football season.

Top 40 in what? A World and News Report ranking? I'm being dead serious.

they are from Louisiana, hence they are poor...

Median Income
Arkansas $37,987
Louisiana $42,423

According to the census, only MS is poorer than Arkansas. Shot yourself in the foot right there
