Arkansas earns more revenue than Ole Miss and MSU combined says WSJ and Forbes.

Link? I'm not arguing traditional long-term money. The linked article was about this year...and this year State and OM combined raised about $210 mil in total private donations and $71 mil in athletics donations.

Don't count on that to last long with feed prices skyrocketing. Same with beef, pork, and catfish. Our catfish feed is over 500 dollars a ton. And we feed out around 200 tons a day 6 days a week. That's 600,000 dollars a week just on feed. Gov't announced today they will be buying a lot of catfish, beef, and chicken (i'm guessing for public school lunches) to help bail out the struggling industries and get the prices up to where we can afford the feed prices.

That whole ethanol thing wasn't such a great idea

Why Texas A&M doesn't pay better is interesting.

Meh. College Station is no different than Norman, and they don't seem to have a problem. Sometimes money is a cure all. And we did sort of give out the first million dollar contract in college football history... Long hair don't care.

Uses 3 gallons of fossil fuels to make 1 gallon of ethanol.
Makes gas prices higher.
makes fuel economy worse. Bad for your engine.
1 out of every 4 bushels of US corn goes towards ethanol.

Terrible fricking idea.

We are currently trying to make a strong push to reduce the amount of ethanol produced each year, at least until this drought and grain shortage passes.

We are also pushing the USDA to hold imported Chinese catfish to the same standards as US farm raised catfish. They are allowed to use illegal antibiotics/chemicals while we are not. Testing of our fish is very strict, while it is lenient on theirs. It allows them to sell imported fish cheaper.

Russia recently banned imported chinese catfish b/c of people getting sick due to the illegal chemicals. China refused to change practices b/c then it would cost them too much to grow the fish.

It is not safe to eat, and it is killing our american industry.

So to all you people out there, make sure it's US farm raised catfish before you eat it

7 gallons of oil in each car tire therefore we have bigger problems than corn which also is associated with oil, ha.

Walmart money must be nice.

It's not Wal-Mart money. It's money from those who work for Wal-Mart and the suppliers who sell to Wal-Mart. You can also include Tyson and J.B. Hunt in that conversation as well.
