With the failure of Basketball coach, Mike Anderson after 8 years & nothing to show for it & Chad (Put the Hammer down) Morris giving us second thoughts, the only thing we have going in major sports is Baseball with Dave Van Horn solidly in charge. It appears we have another solid year in that sport ahead of us. To hear Mike Anderson talk about the team on TV, we're champs & he keeps on making promises. It appears his coaching talent is limited and if you take away the cupcake games on his schedules, he should have been fired a long time ago. Yes, he has a lot of talent, but maybe he's not the guy to nourish it. Time for a change.

Baseball schools don’t miss easy pop ups that would clinch a national title

It's like Bama and Arky are practically related.

Despite his failures, Mike has at least 2 more years as Arkansas head coach.

A large portion of our fan base thinks Mike can do no wrong. I call these people Mikers.

Hell, on the the Arkansas board of this site, one of the mods actively deletes threads that are critical of Mike. Sad, but true.

ive never understood yalls fascination with anderson. it should have been clear after 2-3 years that he wasnt in the same echelon as nolan richardson.

Now I feel bad for UPig. No school now should ever have to stoop so low as to care about to baseball.

You're telling me. Below is what I posted on the Arkansas Board that was deleted. You be the judge if it was delete worthy:
quote:

I know times are tough, but it would be a huge mistake to fire our coach who has brought us success. He took over for a coach that left our program in shambles and we could go right back to that if we're not careful.
Some examples:

He brought us to the Round of 32 in the NCAA tourney and would have gotten farther if not for #1 seed North Carolina

We made the SEC tourney finals and lost a close game

We beat the #4 and #7 ranked team in Bud Walton back to back

He has a highly ranked recruiting class coming in and has recruited pretty well year-to-year

He has had a winning SEC record in all but three seasons.

Oh wait, these are John Pelphrey's stats.

BINGO! We have a winner! I'm sure they would love a do-over....but, ain't gonna happen.
