Yep. There were several better candidates. But maybe they just didn’t want the job. Who knows. It’s more likely that our administration are idiots though. The last few coaches we hired were well known with success and they didn’t work out. So maybe just drawing a random no- name coach out of the hat will work better

I'm not without my reservations about Morris, but to say he's a "no name" is just ignorant.

Then why did 90% of our fan base have no clue who he was when he was hired? Even the tuned in fans were clueless.
Literally no one outside of Clemson has ever heard of the guy. Most college football fans aren't in tune with East Texas high school coaches, which is the bulk of his resume.

6-6 is probable. I think there's a decent chance we lose to Col. St., but I also think there's a decent chance we upset LSU. However, the OM game will likely decide if we go bowling or not, it's a true toss up this early in the game.

That pretty well sums it up.
Also we knew Chad Morris was in the mix early on during the coaching search. Feral, I believe, was the first person to pull his name out of the hat and we all knew Morris was in the mix right up until he signed the contract. Anyone who was actually paying attention to the coaching search knew who he was. Once the Memphis guy started having rumors about some hanky panky going on Morris was pretty well the de facto front runner.
Its a long term investment for Arkansas. Maybe Chad Morris doesn't work out and we get rid of him in a few years, but he will help us rebuild our ties to Texas High School programs. Hell, and Arkansas programs as well since Bert wasn't exactly setting the world on fire building relations there.

Petrino's first year we were rebuilding from the ground up, similar to this year, and he went 5-7. And we were asshairs away from losing to 2 of those games.
Anyone claiming we will do 5-7 or better this year is essentially claiming Chad is the next Petrino.
We will go 4-8 or 3-9.
