This is a damn publicity stunt.
“Look at me, look at how focused I am”, and a way to get the Manning name talked about more. If this were a distraction to players, I’d be willing to bet a lot more coaches would not let their players participate.
Honestly, he probably didn’t grow up playing this game all that much. Being he was 8-9 years old when they stopped making it. I bet if they continued to make the game through all these years, he wouldn’t be opting out. It would be a bigger deal for him to be in the game.
You can put me on record saying- He’ll either opt in before the game comes out, or he’ll opt in for next years game-ncaa 26.

Manning may be the most overrated loser in NFL history. He simply was not a good leader nor as good a player as some make him out to be.
In the end, he and his kin can do as they please, but announcing you are opting out of a video game is exactly the opposite of “focusing on football”. Doing that would have been not saying shite at all, but because they made a point to state Arch “did” this, should tell you all you need to know.
