Tbh I'm not concerned one way or the other. Sure he's probably awesome but we've got a great stable and having the Manning name on the team will likely result in a wave of transfers away from the program by other QBs who believe that he'll have the automatic inside track.

He's a moron if he goes to Texas, because their OL will get him killed. UGA has all the pieces so I could see that. Alabama makes sense as well. I have no idea what he would have to work with at Ole Miss, but Kiffin is a great QB coach. Nobody knows what LSU will look like by then ... I'd say still very wide open

I think it's down to Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss.

Always love overreactions like this. Never said the kid was trash, just a bit overrated based on his name. When you look at his play on the field he has struggled against the better teams Newman played. Generally speaking you dont see a cant miss 5-star type of QB consistently struggle against the better teams their high school plays. He's still relatively young, not a senior yet. Just pointing out in basically every big game Newman has had against a good team this year and last, he's not played well. Its not an opinion either there, just look at the numbers.

After his last couple of games, Ellsworth Community College has offered.

Heard the same up until Texas started looking average. Now not so much.

Unless Kiffin can assure them he'll be there for the duration I'd be surprised. Word is Peyton has some issue with Kiffin. Also, OM is a long way from any future NC discussion regardless of who we have at QB.

Gunner's coming this year. Arch is 2023. He'll have to win the job when he gets to UGA and I think by then Gunner will be well entrenched.

Man, i don't follow recruiting, so I don't really know anything about this kid other than he's a Manning QB that lots of programs want.

But going to Texas would be DUMB. Their o-line is dog shite level, and this kid would get to Austin just in time for that dog shite o-line to start facing a full slate of SEC d-lines.

Whoever UT's QB is when they get to the SEC will essentially be a sacrificial lamb. He won't survive the season.

Will be interesting for sure. Gunner is class of '22 and Manning is c/0 '23, so here's what the rooms could look like for UGA in the upcoming years:

2022
JT Daniels - Has another year of eligibility. Probably (?) won't leave this year
Stetson Bennett - Could use the COVID year. Isn't an NFL guy, so why not come back for one more
Carson Beck - The most likely to transfer if JT or Stet come back, but would battle for the job if not
Brock Vandagriff - Would battle for the job if no JT or Stet
Gunner Stockton - Would battle for the job if no JT or Stet

2023
Carson Beck
Brock Vandagriff
Gunner Stockton
Arch Manning

Would have to imagine at least one of the backups that didn't win the job in 2022 would transfer out. The most likely transfer would be Beck IMO if he doesn't win it in 2022. Gunner probably at least sticks it out for '22 and '23.

I call BS on this. A pro-style QB will always struggle without a dominant line and good receivers. It is the dual 5-star who stands out in high school. Unless you are from NO you may have watched a TV broadcast but I seriously doubt you have actually seen him in person, on the field, where you could follow his receiver's routes, see the blocking and play develop, and judge his vision and football IQ.

But no need to fluff up your knowledge resume. You are entitled to an opinion based on almost no knowledge of what recruiters look for, or what strengths the player has, or what the strength of his team is, or his competition. Again... you are probably not better at this than 247recdruiting, rivals, etc.

So why are you so sure the young man is terrible, trash, simply riding his name, and his uncles and grandfather were not good, trash (you are talking about three hall of famers), and he is going to be a horrible college QB and will not ever get drafted? What is god's green earth causes you to make such far fetched and ill-informed statements?

I can only assume you are just another fan that automatically just trashes any player, coach, team that isn't heading for your team which is usual for seriously insular, xenophobic fan bases. It is quite laughable... my recommendation, don't be that guy...

Alabama is in the mix because of Mac Jones... first round after three years on bench. Texas because of Sarkisian basically starting from scratch.
