Jabari Smith is better than anyone on Kentucky. Auburn also beat UK in the tourney a couple years ago without their best player. Excuses are for losers.

Yea, Auburn literally beat Kentucky on the biggest stage without 1st round pick Chuma Okeke.

These excuses are weak sauce.

I don’t remember us having excuses for Chuma’s injury when we faced them?!?!?

We didn’t need one because we still beat them even without our best player

The Cats led 25-16 when Washington departed. His plus/minus was a plus-eight. From there, Kentucky was outscored 13-8 the remainder of the half, 64-46 the remainder of the game.
This is the typical scoring profile for Auburn this year. Their depth is a factor that builds and grows throughout just about every game this season. Yesterday was no different.

Auburn has had injuries as well - their depth has made up for it - and now, as their injured return it only gets deeper.

KY should try to develop some depth, like Auburn has..

and BTW, when #2 charged into Kessler with about 2 minutes to play your coach cried like a bitch. It was CLEARLY a charge by #2, not an asterisk

Now if you can’t respond remotely reasonable without being a hater then don’t dirty up a rational sports discussion.
KY fans are despicable and, for SOME REASON AS YET TO BE KNOWN, smug beyond decent. You should go join the Big10.

Kentucky decided to recruit really great, but also really fragile players. This is no different than Alabama and Tua.

Lulz, you mean his trolling like Auburn fans prior to the game

Auburn fans weren’t trolling before the game, we were genuinely excited about the matchup. UKWildcat wasn’t “trolling” either, he was talking shite, so he needs to show up and take this L and stop being a bitch like he said Auburn fans would be.

I honestly don’t truly care but it does expose him for what he is and really find it funny.

Anyone calling losing your second leading scorer and ball handler for the whole game minor is a fricking reeeeeeeeeeeeeetard.

Coach Don -

Are you going to respond to the several Auburn fans example of a few years ago?

We lost Chuma Okeke who was our best player. We played you in the Elite 8 when “it mattered”.

What was the Result?

We are waiting on your thoughtful response.

They forget on the way to the Final Four we were without Chuma Okeke and still beat their asses.

We also lost Anfernee (only inside D presence) in 2018 which cost us the out right SEC title and likely a deeper run in the NCAA's.

I suspect few UK fans have watched us this year but teams often get out fast on us and then our depth wears them down and we real them in...TyTy might have prevented that but the current body of work suggest he'd of struggled late against us as well.

Shut the frick up.

And as others have said, outside of the one resident loud mouth no one has made excuses for yesterday. Cherry picking Clay’s article doesn’t represent that either.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say we’d like another matchup where Washington is healthy the whole game. He’s really been coming into his own the last few games and his ceiling is probably the highest on this team. But I saw multiple Auburn fans say similar.

Rare to see Kentucky fans on this board make excuses for losing.. and if you don't think they're still the big dog, look at the crowds they draw at every SEC arena
Auburn sold out their arena, on a Wednesday night, playing shitty UGA.

The crowd at Auburn arena was there for Auburn and not Kentucky. Auburn has been packing the house all year. Auburn fans have to go to away games just to afford and see Auburn basketball in person. Auburn arena is now the premiere basketball arena in the SEC. we can thank Bruce Pearl for that, but the metrics don’t lie.

Auburn has this thing called a bench which Kentucky is sorely lacking.

How do they not see that they are basically saying their team relies on one or two players?

We lost Kessler to fouls in a couple games and the next man up filled in just fine.

I am relatively new to basketball, but its easy to see Auburn built two teams. One on the court, one on the bench. UK can't afford any deviation from their normal starting lineup. They are a good team, but I figured their fans would be more nuanced to this.

Why couldn’t Kansas have just beat us? Easy, because we had a much better team and currently have a much better program. Sucks but oh well

This is a glorious Auburn melt. Had no idea losing our starting guards and losing a close game would elicit an Auburn melt, but here we are.
