I get why they do this - it makes the math simple - but I disagree with their methodology. The difference between finishing first and second is not the same as the difference between finishing second and third, or between twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth. There should be a larger points gap between 1st place and the rest of the field to reflect this. This model measures program consistency, not program success.

Totally agree.

This is true. I got laughed at by a radio host on SiriusXM 84 for suggesting Tennessee was a top 15 program of all time. He clearly didn't know shite about frick.

TOTAL - 393 points, which is good for the 22nd best program of all time.

Bowden, Bryant, Paterno, and Osborne surely have to be higher than that. They coached so much longer than Saban.

When you constantly run your mouth at the schools ranked higher than you that also have a pretty large discrepancy in wins and losses against you, yea it's kind of a bad look

No it’s a bad look when you jerk off to lists like this but don’t have a top 5 win since 2010

Lol I didn't post this, nor do I really care, and Texas had two top 5 wins in the 2018 season alone

Seems like you're triggered that your football team is seen as second-class compared to most others in the conference / soon joining this conference

At least y'all have basketba... er I mean baseba... er I mean equestrian!

It was a nice 2018 season, but unfortunately didn’t beat anybody in the top 5.

We all know how that went

Edit: I won’t hijack the tu and UT circle jerk over the glory days. I’ll show myself out.

Only 1 SEC school in the top 9 ?
Not a good look for a conference that claims to run college football

You can also look at it this way. Bama has managed to be ranked #1 in appearances in the Top 5; appearances at #2; and appearances at #1 for the AP poll. In the top 5 of total appearances and Top 10.

Oklahoma was top 5 in the coaches poll when Texas beat them. Georgia was No. 5 in the college football playoff poll when Texas beat them (you know, in the NY6 bowl game Texas won before Texas a&m had ever even appeared in a BCS or NY6 bowl game? )

Yup. Texas had a bad showing the next year and STILL ranked ahead of Texas a&m by year's end.

Question: for snickering at Texas for not being "back", has a&m ever even "been there" since Hitler invaded Poland?

Ummmm. Yes we did.

Oklahoma - No. 5 coaches poll when they lost to Texas 48-45

Georgia - No. 5 in CFB Playoff poll when they lost to Texas 28-21

Now, I know with your aggie education it's really hard to read numbers, but ranked "No. 5" means that the team was in the "top 5", and the numbers 48 and 28 are larger than 45 and 21, respectively. So, the way football works, if you score more than the other team, you win. And if their ranking was No. 5, they're considered this thing called "a top 5 team"

Again, I know math and numbers comes hard to you rejects

Damn. Even when it's still spelled out for you, your aggie education gets in the way

Sorry that looking at the chart listed by OP hurt your feelings and reminded you what a pathetic excuse of an athletic program farmersonly.com university is

Incorrect. 1999 Sugar Bowl

At least get your facts right. And using a coaches poll to justify rankings? Come on, AP or CFP only.

We get it though, anything to make the last decade of longhorn football look as good as possible with three missed bowl seasons and two losses to Kansas.
