Ah. So you state that you finished in the top 4, yet didn't participate in the playoffs... like the other teams that were considered the "top 4" that season?

Are you sure you want to go there?

Texas beat OU in 2018 (regular season) and they finished #4 in the AP (which is what this thread is about).

She's an aggie, so it's tough for her to read (bless her heart).

You know it just eats them to see their more successful and intelligent brother see even more success while they are still outside the top 20 of OP's list

Joe Paterno: 569 points
Bobby Bowden: 459
Tom Osborne: 452

Average points per season:
Saban - 393 - 26 seasons - 15.1 per season
Bear - 540 - 38 seasons - 14.2
Joe Paterno: 569 points - 46 seasons - 12.3
Bobby Bowden: 459 - 44 seasons - 10.4
Tom Osborne: 452 - 25 seasons - 18.1

One thing to note, Osborne (like Paterno) only coached at one location, and never had to rebuild. Nebraska's three seasons before he took over as the head coach were:
1970 - #1, 11-0-1
1971 - #1, 13-0
1972 - #4, 9-2-1

In contrast:
Alabama, three years before Saban:
2004 - 6-6
2005 - #8, 10-2
2006 - 6-7

FSU, three years before Bowden:
1973 - 0-11
1974 - 1-10
1975 - 3-8

Penn State, three years before Paterno:
1963 - #16, 7-3
1964 - #14, 6-4
1965 - 5-5

Alabama, three years before Bryant:
1955 - 0-10
1956 - 2-7-1
1957 - 2-7-1

(These don't include the rebuilding jobs that Bryant and Saban did at Kentucky/Texas A&M and Michigan State/LSU, respectively)

46 seasons is just absurd. Imagine a 90 year old Saban out there

I looked up some info so y'all will stop bleeding all over this thread.

Wins against teams which finished in the AP top ten since 2010
Texas - 3 (2018 #4 OU, 2015 #5 OU, 2013 #6 OU)
Texas A&M - 4 (#2010 #6 OU, 2012 #1 Alabama, 2018 #6 LSU, 2021 #2 Alabama)

There. You've both sucked since 2010. Now STFU.

And y'all also beat OU in 2015 who finished #5 AP.

Hey, no argument there. It's been our worst decade in the history of the program, and it's still on par with A&M, who is in the midst of their single greatest decade ever

Don't blame me for not being able to read. Blame the rejects running rampant through this thread

Lol you know you're getting dominated on a thread when you have to bring in race, find out that your own school is even more racist, and then bring up some guy that died 90 years ago.

Meanwhile, A&M currently: #RacismAtTAMUFeelsLike

I almost paid a lot of money to go to that game my junior year. Glad I didn't.

Simkins was honored at t.u. until 2010, coincidentally.

You know he was the FOUNDER of the Florida KKK, right, Klannie?

That's funny. The population of Black students at A&M is 6.3% but at tu it is only 4.8%. Since A&M has a significantly larger student population, it also has a significantly larger Black population as well.
