I mean, he’ll make a few more million so it’s not all bad but the guy is likable.

I’m conflicted. I’ll take no joy in watching him get his brains beat in, but I take much joy in watching kansas get theirs beat in.

I think he'll do better than we think. We all know the man can field a defense capable of shutting down an air raid offense.

So, does this mean Les really was interested in coaching again and no one would hire him? Or did he wanna go some place where expectations were lower

miles is a great guy but hell no I don't feel sorry for him. he's independently wealthy, has a great family and is retirement age. he wasn't going to get a big gig so he's taking what he can.

frankly, I was hoping he would take a job at a small school where there is little pressure and just mentor young men.

How? He underachieved while in a state known for producing HS talent like crazy. He got those kids to stay home, and still couldnt win. Now he has to get kids to kansas.

I think it's likely he wanted some time off. Let's not act like coaching at one of the Big Six in the SEC isn't an immensely stressful job. Knowing him, he probably wanted some time to enjoy his family while getting paid $130,000/month.

He did win. He averaged over 10 wins per season. He may have "underachieved" at LSU, but that's also a function of the extremely high expectations here.

He did not underachieve at OSU. He did quite well there. I know he'll get Kansas some winning seasons.

He would be good at that. I would like to see him be the AD at LSU.

I'm ambivalent. It'll be nice to see him coaching again, though I do kind of wish he'd gotten a more attractive job.

Not really. I have nothing at all against him but hell, he has made several million dollars the last couple of years just kicking back and relaxing. It's hard to feel sorry for someone like that

He's not trotting out a SEC defense littered with 4/5 stars.

I wish he would be on the sec network, or some other channel as an analyst. Maybe have his own show called “tastes of the sec” talking about the different taste of grass.

Does Kansas have a grass field? Les still likes to taste the grass.

It’s a good fit for each other, lower expectations for him and they’ll get a coach to get them some quality seasons.

I know someone who interviewed him for a Head coaching position. He interviewed horribly. So bad they were concerned about dementia.

I think he’s wanted another coaching job all along, there just weren’t any takers. Until now, I guess.
