I'm ambivalent. It'll be nice to see him coaching again, though I do kind of wish he'd gotten a more attractive job.

Like a consultation/analyst at Alabama?

It's not like he hasn't coached in the Big 12 before. He was more than competitive at OSU beating a top 4 ranked Oklahoma twice in four years.

apparently he was completely disorganized for the houston interview. he also had ideas for big time coordinators that he had no chance of getting there.

he is in for a rude awakening at kansas. no in state talent. no elite defense to bail him out. no open checkbook for coaching staff.

kansas is a really terrible job. and the only reason he was even able to get it is because he's friends with long.

Who wants to bet Kansass wants the Border War game at Arrowhead back if Miles has Kansass winning 6 or more games in a year or two.

I know someone who interviewed him for a Head coaching position. He interviewed horribly. So bad they were concerned about dementia.

If that's true that's a shame. I really would've liked to have seen him back in the SEC

Les will get all of the three star guys with potential that don't get scholarships from SEC schools, which will be good enough to eventually win 7-8 games at Kansas. He will build the only defense in the big 12.

Well, if nothing else...people will now tune in to watch and see how he does...how his team will do.

More coverage for Kansas. Especially if they pull out some upsets.

This will be a disaster. He will recruit a few good players but again the common theme will be his inept offense and in the big 12 no offense equals losses. He might put Kansas above a Kansas state and or Baylor that’s it.

Wouldn’t take a roster of 4/5 star talent to be mid pack in the Big 12. K State is down, OSU isn’t real good, Baylor is meh, really it’s OU/TX and everybody else.

Have numbers come up yet? Surely kansas is a 4 - 4.5 a year job right?

Because this is what he signed up for. On purpose. And it's not like it's his alma mater that he's returning to glory or something.

(Two weeks ago against Iowa State. This is right in the middle of the game)

Do I like Miles? Absolutely. Outside of coaching, I am sure most people would agree he seems like a genuinely good guy. But feel bad for him? He is a head college football coach. There have been many CFB coaches who have been fired, not all of them had a handsome buyout and if anything. Kansas is a great opportunity. Since the 2010 season Kansas has a total of 18 wins up to date.

It's not like he will be going into a program with high expectations. If he wins 4 games and keeps it close against a respectable opponent, in one or two games, it will be exciting times there.

He will have at least 4 or so years to do something. If they remain stagnant he would likely get fired, but he could turn them into a middle of the road type team and be able to keep his job for awhile.
