Both programs with very similar history.

Both D coordinators that were thrown in the HC position before anyone expected.

Both first time head coaches.

Why should we expect different results?

Golding is set up much, much better.

He already has chambliss and a good oc coming in.

Everything is already set up at ole miss. Golding is a good recruiter and a solid dc.

Pete is inheriting a lot of talent and has way higher expectations. If he doesn’t win 10 reg season games, he’ll have underachieved.

But to your question, Pete has more experience than Arnett did and doesn’t appear to want to change the offense like Arnett did (which was stupid).

State won the SEC in the 90’s, didn’t they? When’s the last time OM won the SEC?

Are there any differences between Brian Kelly and Lane Kiffin?

Both were considered to be top 10 coaches. Both were surprising huge splash hires. Both had high winning percentages. Neither had won any power four conference championships before arriving at LSU. Neither had any CFP wins prior to arriving at LSU. Both went 11-1 in the season before they took the LSU job. Both had a #1 ranked transfer class at LSU. Both signed huge guaranteed contracts that provided financial security regardless of wins and losses. Both had multiple embarrassing missteps early on - for Kelly it was Grindin Brian and fake accents, for Kiffin it was Vanity Lane and Mississippi Burning. Each were projected by LSU fans to win multiple national championships.

If you consider State and Ole Miss to have similar histories then Ole Miss and LSU have similar histories.

None that I can think of. Seems like they had exactly the same amount of experience before being elevated. They both were named HC under the exact same circumstances. They both inherited the exact same talent. They both had the exact same environment in their first few games. You nailed it. No differences at all.

Arnett > Golding

But, Golding is inheriting a much better machine than Arnett

State is going to be tough to beat this year, we might even see the return of the dreaded, much dreaded, very much dreaded... 'tHe Grind' and it will suck for teams needing an easy win

They’ve never won the SEC beyond the early 1940s. Do you not scroll history kid?

Ole Miss is similar to Vanderbilt. That’s why they made y'all East West rivals. Two historically bad teams.

Well Hadad the only way State ever passes Ole Miss is hoping bad things happen to them. State’s football program has gone through how many coaches in how many years? Dumpster fire.
