Well. Alabama actually has a defense with a pulse.

I realize that Oklahoma fans like to say their defense is good, it is just that the BIG 12 offenses are so good.

I do tend to agree that BIG 12 offenses are very good. (At the very least Oklahoma's is) But when you look at the misalignments, poor angles, bad tackling that BIG 12 defenses do, it doesn't take a genius to know that their defenses just aren't very good.
Part of that might be because their offenses tend to score so quickly their defenses are tired....but they tend to give up lots of points during the beginning of the game when the defenses should still be fresh.

If the BIG 12 wants to truly compete, they must go back towards a more balanced approach between offense and defense. In stead, they seem to be doubling down on the all offense all the time philosophy when you look at recruiting classes.

Does he not realize that OU has been on the scene since 2000 with nearly annual top !0 finishes? Jesus they've for the national championship at least 4 times since 2000 and been in the CFP twice.

They do look l a little different than other teams. Let’s face it, Bama players don’t look like ANY other college team out there. They are all bigger, more ripped, and faster than other team.

I think that this is what he was talking about.....and it doesn't take place with just a couple of really good recruiting cycles. When you bring in top talent year after year, and players must compete with, practice against and continuously be around other elite players.....well, this is the foundation of any true dynasty.
Anybody remember the old New York Yankee teams? I hated 'em but I couldn't help but respect them.

He's saying that it took years for Saban to build up the Alabama program to this point. Stoops was at Oklahoma long enough to do that and in fact Stoops did build a consistent contender.
