A&M beats Texas.
A&M loses to Bama in the SECCG.

Miami loses to Syracuse to end the year.
Clemson beats SMU in the ACCCG.
UK beats Louisville
SC beats Clemson.
OSU beats Indiana and then Oregon.

Playoff bracket:

1 - OSU (12-1)
2 - Alabama (11-2)
3 - BSU (12-1)
4 - BYU (12-1)

5 - Oregon (12-1) vs 12 - Clemson (10-3)
6 - PSU (11-1) vs 11 - Tennessee (10-2)
7 - Notre Dame (11-1) vs 10 - Ole Miss (10-2)
8 - Indiana (11-1) vs 9 - UGA (10-2) (Yes, they make us go to Indiana)

Check my avatar…but it’s obvious Texas is in with a win Saturday. Although I will admit it is kind of bullshite the only way for A&M to get in is beating Texas AND winning the SEC CG. If they beat Texas, they’d have identical records and the h2h. But instead of getting in, they have to play Bama, Georgia or Ole Piss in a de facto play-in game

Why are you in another playoff thread? I told you, playoff thread will never concern Kentucky fans.

What's cute is that you actually think A&M has a prayer of a chance against Texas. That's precious.

We will probably lose. Every Aggie knows this. We have a brand new coach. He’s done a great job in his first year. But we will fight like hell and see what happens.

According to A&M fans TN would be left out in that scenario because TX would get in with wins over Vandy and Colorado State over TN with wins over Bama and Vandy.

You post far too much about them. Why?
I don’t get it.
If we win our next 2 (3?) games, we’re in good shape.

Tonight I’m thinking about the 12 Ags we lost 25 years ago … at 2:42 am.
That’s what matters.
What the media thinks of the horns is beyond our control.
So enjoy what remains of the season; the chips will fall where they will.

It’s not bull shite. We should have beaten ND. We didn’t. Yes y’all had a weak Michigan team instead. But we had our chance to beat ND and they have our spot because we gave it to them.

We could have put in a different QB but we didn’t. That said it was our coaches first game with his team.

It’s hard to get too upset with Elko and company. We are sitting at 8 wins with a chance to play for a championship if we win.

We probably won’t win. But Elko is doing much better than anyone thought he would.

Texas beat an average/above average Mich on the road OOC. UT beat a horrible NC State team. I’m fine with Texas getting in over UT if both have 2 losses

Seriously, this guy only makes posts about Texas. That rejection letter must have hurt badly.

For the record Sneezy, I don't think we are the #3 team, but a top 12 team and better than A&M? Yes, I think we are that.

A 10-2 Ole Miss or TN will go crazy if they let TX in over them with just a Vandy win.

We have 6 games in common with both Ole Miss and Tennessee. It’s not difficult to compare the teams, assuming Texas loses to A&M..

We all play
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
Oklahoma
Miss State

Margin differential
TX Margin = 80 + Kentucky
OM Margin = 59 + FL + State
TN Margin = 26 + Vanderbilt

Record
Texas 4-1 (Kentucky)
Ole Miss 3-1 (FL + State)
Tennessee 3-2 (Vanderbilt)

Tennessee is low man imo. Ole Miss and Texas would likely end up pretty comparable. Their schedules are basically the same.

Texas will get the edge most likely in this scenario
1) SOS will be slightly better because of our Michigan game.
2) We would have losses to 2 playoff teams vs Ole Miss losing to 2 unranked teams.
3) Texas viewership matters when all else is equal.

I am not sure anyone really needs to apologize as it seems most don’t want us in the conference. We still have a tough game against Kentucky and then we head to Kyle. Should be an amazing night of college football. Then after that game discussions about who deserves what should take place.

The problem is UGA is likely in this group too.

First you'd look at record among the 4 teams.

OM - 1-0
UGA - 2-1
Texas - 0-1
Tennessee - 0-1

That puts Ole Miss in first.

Then you'd have 3 remaining.

UGA - 2-0
Texas - 0-1
Tennessee - 0-1

That puts UGA next.

Then you'd have Tenn and Texas, neither of which played each other. Texas might very well be ahead of Tennessee because they beat Arkansas.

However Tennessee would have a ranked win (Bama) while Texas would not have one. In a true tie-breaker scenario Texas would win. But in a "resume" scenario Tennessee is likely ahead of Texas.

It will all play out.

I expanded the list.

You are aware this only is the rule for determining who makes the SECCG, right? It's not what the playoff committee uses.

They do factor in things like... have you beaten anyone?

If they look at Texas with the "who have you beaten" microscope in this scenario, what is Texas's biggest few wins and how would it compare to Ole Miss and Tennessee?

OM has a win over UGA (who's #3 on the list above).and SC (#7)
Tennessee has a win over Bama (#2)
UGA has a win over Texas (#4) and Tennessee (#5)

Texas has their top win against... Arkansas (#10)... at 3-5 in conference play.

That may not be enough.

If they lose, they’re going to need a blowout in the Overrated State/Indiana game or either of those to lose another game or help elsewhere.

Otherwise it’s going to be 4 Big 10 teams and 4 SEC teams.

Bama
A&M
Georgia
Ole Miss

Outside looking in. No quality wins, not playing on the SECCG.

The rare pregame melt where you still think your team wins. Impressive.
