Did you not say the following?

LSU didn't start playing Florida every year until the 1970's.

Insinuating that LSU did not have a schedule advantage for the 20 years Florida was bad and you played them? (70's-90's)

How has LSU been able to play such an insanely easy schedule? Since 1933, Auburn has literally played an extra 100 games against other "Big6 + Georgia Tech" teams compared to LSU.

This thread is full of fail. Pretty much every source on the Internet lists Auburn, Georgia, and LSU as having the toughest strength of schedules among SEC schools historically (very similar strength numbers for all three of those schools). I think Florida is usually listed as a distant fourth. Bama is next (traditionally has a weaker regular season schedule than the other Big Six schools but negates that a good bit by playing tough opponents in more bowl games and SEC championship games than the other Bix Six schools). Tennessee usually has the the weakest strength of schedules among Big Six schools historically (for years playing opponents like Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Sewannee, Cumberland, Presbyterian College, UT-Chattanooga, etc.).

The biggest hit to Alabama's historic strength of schedule is that it doesn't have to play against Alabama.

No. An Alabama fan made a factually incorrect statement that I corrected. I offered no comment on how playing Florida affected LSU's schedule whatsoever.

Whatever.

If it didn't matter I am just wondering why you thought it necessary to mention it.

I am a little surprised at UGA being on there. I guess because we caught Tennessee at their toughest, then Florida and having Auburn on the schedule all the time?

Florida rules the Big Six since SEC expansion. If the Big Six were its own conference, here are its champions:

1992 Alabama (4-0)
1993 Florida (4-1) [Note: Auburn (4-0) was on probation]
1994 Florida/Alabama (4-1) [Note: UF won head-to-head]
1995 Florida (4-0)
1996 Florida (5-0) [Note: UF won head-to-head against all Big Six members]
1997 Tennessee (3-1)
1998 Tennessee (4-0)
1999 Alabama (4-1)
2000 Florida (5-0)
2001 LSU/Tennessee (3-2) [Note: UT won head-to-head at home by 8; LSU won head-to-head at neutral site by 11]
2002 Florida/Georgia (3-1) [Note: UF won head-to-head]
2003 LSU (4-1)
2004 Auburn (5-0)
2005 Auburn (2-1)
2006 Florida (4-1)
2007 LSU (4-0)
2008 Florida (4-0)
2009 Alabama (4-0)
2010 Auburn (3-0)
2011 LSU (5-1) [Note: LSU won head-to-head against all Big Six members]
2012 Alabama (4-0)
2013 Auburn/Georgia (3-1) [Note: AU won head-to-head]
2014 Alabama (4-0)

SCHOOL - TOTAL BIG SIX TITLES
Florida - 8 titles
Alabama - 6 titles
Auburn/LSU - 4 titles
Tennessee - 3 titles
Georgia - 2 titles

Made up term that LSU, UGA and Tennessee fans use. Basically schools that are now irrelevant and have to cling onto their fading past.

I guess. But honestly, UGA is now tops according to the most recent College Football Data Warehouse stats (Bama has moved way up since I last checked it...playing 2 to 3 postseason games per year the last few years has really boosted Bama's all-time strength of schedule very quickly):

SCHOOL - ALL-TIME STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE
Georgia - 937.83
Auburn - 923.40
Alabama - 919.14
LSU - 912.73
Florida - 856.28
Tennessee - 849.34

So if by "easy schedule" you mean teams not in the Big Six, you're right. If by "easy schedule" you mean "teams that completely suck LOL LSU" you're simply wrong.

I'm talking "easy schedule" in regards to SEC play. You can play Rice, Texas, et. al. all day long but it has no effect on your conference winning percentage.

Florida has always played Florida State
Georgia and Auburn have played a magnitude of OOC games against both Georgia Tech and Clemson.

But we're not talking about that. We are talking SEC play.

BIG 6 TEAMS ONLY:

OVERALL ALL-TIME SEC RECORD:

1. Alabama (413-162-21) for 71.1%
2. Tennessee (333-199-20) for 62.1%
3. Georgia (325-210-14) for 60.5%
4. Florida (314-219-15) for 58.7%
5. LSU (312-223-22) for 58.0%
6. Auburn (302-248-19) for 54.8%

GAMES PLAYED AGAINST OTHER "BIG 6" TEAMS + GEORGIA TECH:

1. Auburn- 340
2. Alabama- 312
3. Florida- 310
4. Georgia- 301
5. Tennessee- 251
6. LSU- 240

Again, it doesn't take a rocket scientest to see that LSU has had a MASSIVE advantage over Auburn, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Tennessee has had a relatively easy slate as well.

Why not take it a step further.... let's look at how many times each of the six have played the 5 worst SEC programs of all-time (who each have an overall SEC record of 38.3% or worse)...

GAMES PLAYED AGAINST TULANE, MISS ST, KENTUCKY, VANDY, & SEWANNEE:

1. Alabama- 202
1. Tennessee- 202
3. LSU- 200
4. Florida- 177
5. Georgia- 165
6. Auburn- 154

Once again, Auburn followed by Georgia have played the fewest games against the SEC's perennial doormat programs. While Tennessee and LSU (along with Alabama) have played by far the most games against such teams.

I would say this again speaks to the massive advantage that LSU has had over the last 83 years of SEC play.

If you don't think this has helped LSU look better in the standings, you are either crazy or delusional.

When its the year 2015, and you've played more SEC games against Tulane and Vanderbilt (combined 61) than Georgia and Tennessee (combined 59), you've had it easy.

Throw in there 57 meetings against Kentucky (compared to just 41 with Auburn).

And 82 games against Mississippi State (compared to just 64 against Alabama and just 62 against Florida).

... again, you've had it easy.

And you are still just #5 of the BIG 6 in overall SEC Winning percentage.
And you are still just #6 of the BIG 6 in "Big 6" winning percentage.

It's clear the worst decision Georgia Tech ever made was leaving the SEC.

They were a powerhouse in football and if you had to pick the turning point where they headed off to mediocre land it was the mid 60's... when they left the SEC.

Like who?

We've already PROVEN that LSU has played by far the easiest SEC schedule of the Big 6 teams. There is no disputing that.

If you look at OOC games, again LSU has very strong OOC series that were played all that often.

LSU played Rice 50 times between 1933 and 1995. So LSU played them 50 times across 63 seasons. Rice's record over this 63-year period of time?... 267-383-20 (41.3%).

LSU played Tulane another 35 times after the Green Wave left the SEC (between 1966-2009). So LSU played them 35 times across those 44 years. Tulane's record over those 44 seasons was 186-309-1 (37.6%).

Yes, LSU did play Texas 11 times between 1933 and 2003. But of those 11 Texas teams played, 5 of them had losing records.

Yes, LSU did play Notre Dame 11 times since 1933. But of those 11 Notre Dame teams played, 7 had 5 losses or more.

Not really. We played many of the SWC teams far more often than we played most teams currently in the SEC East. We've played Texas more than any non-SWC/Big 12 team currently in the SEC. We've played Notre Dame more than any SEC team. That was my point.

And, as others have already pointed, out, CFDW disagrees with you.
