We have taken a couple of OOC grad transfers; Dieter from Bowling Green and the Slotty Pippen kid from Washington State.

I don’t think we have ever taken an SEC grad transfer. We have taken a few JuCo guys over the years and we took a flyer on that Taylor thug which backfired

Jonathan Taylor
Was not a transfer. He was dismissed from Georgia in July 2014. He didn't enroll at Alabama until January 2015, 6 months later.

You sure about that? Saban said that he was declined admission into Washington, not that he just changed his mind all of a sudden.

Yep. Below is from an SI article on August 8th.

quote:

Peterson said on Monday that Kaho was granted his release because "he needs to be close to his family."

quote:

According to the Times, Kaho had been dealing with some family issues recently as his parents are going through a divorce and he had an aunt and uncle die unexpectedly last month. Kaho has been with his family in Reno, Nev. since the memorial services for his family members.

Then Saban changed the narrative the other day. Someone is not telling the truth. I would like to hear Petersen's thoughts on Saban's comments.

True. Georgia released him.
He went straight to Bama without JuCo.

I'm pretty sure there is now a Jonathan Taylor rule. Is that right?

Sophomore. Kicked off the Georgia team. Signed with Bama. Then pled guilty to domestic violence.

Fits a multi year player who signed with 1 school and then went to another.

Dismissed from Georgia. Went to Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Mississippi where he played during the 2014 season. Then signed with Alabama in January, 2015.

Does not fit a multi year player who signed with one SEC school and transferred to another SEC school.

There is a lot of misinformation. I believe it is coming from the Kaho family trying to earn their release.

I don't think Saban did anything wrong. And UW did the right thing with the release.

Everybody should be good unless you want to look closer at the behavior of the parents (spreading misinformation)

I wasn't aware that he played.

Thanks for the correction.

It is crazy that teams took him on with the pending court case.

Dieter

He was the one I was trying to think of. I knew he was not SEC. You guys have just stockpiled so much talent nobody wants to transfer in. I think Dieter got decent playing time with Alabama, though.

Somebody in this thread said something about Taylor. Said he was kicked out of UGA (true) which means he was not a transfer. but was he? I mean as far as the NCAA was he considered a transfer? I know he went to a JUCO, so that makes me think as far as the NCAA was concerned he was a transfer....but I honestly don't know.

Well, nobody can do that except a graduate transfer. he did not graduate, so he, nor anybody else can just transfer from one school to another, unless it is a hardship case.

Technically but we both know there's a big difference in this thread.
