You have people making the decisions so it will never be perfect.

The whole thing is a joke anyway. There are maybe 3-4 teams that could win it all but money prevails so we expanded. But the money will not be there this year if 2 of the teams are N Texas and JMU. Basically TV slots.

This conference guaranteed spots and conference champions is a joke. Put the best in and be done with it.

How many people would have laughed at the beginning of the season if you said 3 teams from Texas would be in playoffs and Texas was not one of them. Vandy Miami Texas all should be in before a G6 team.

For the last time, even if the committee assigns zero penalty to Alabama for losing the CCG, Alabama would miss the playoffs if they lose to UGA and BYU beats Texas Tech. Alabama is currently the last team in, and BYU would take their playoff spot. I mean, seriously, what's the committee going to do? Move Alabama ahead of Notre Dame as some kind of reward for Alabama losing to Georgia?
It's easy to spot the folks who never watch college basketball or baseball, as they don't understand the concept of a bid stealer.

If Bama is 10 going into Atlanta, the committee can refrain from punishing them for losing to UGA, by keeping them at 10, and still end up with Bama missing the cut if BYU were to upset Texas Tech. In that event, the last at large team in the field would be the 9 seed, rather than the 10. That's what they call "bid stealing."

They eeked out four wins (Auburn, Missouri, Georgia and South Carolina) by a combined 20 points

4 road games.

Biggest home game of the season for each team.

They aren’t perfect, but they will one of the 12 unless UGA puts a 35 point beat down on them. And the QB gets carted off.

The bubble is
Ole Miss(coach change), Oklahoma, Texas/Vandy.

Bama and UGA are IN.
As is A&M

They might take 5.
They won’t take 6 or 7.

If Alabama is still behind Notre Dame tomorrow then yes, BYU beating Texas Tech would likely remove Alabama.

If Texas Tech beats BYU, Alabama is likely in good shape unless they lay an absolute stinker in the SECCG (lose by 21+ or something).

Texas is sitting behind Alabama because the majority of their games have been lack luster. Texas is not even considered a bubble team just a team realizing they are not one of the best teams in the country or conference but also realizing they are at best 3rd in the state of Texas.

Never mentioned Texas

We're not in the playoff conversation but thanks for thinking of us

Guess that beat down we gave y'all in Tuscaloosa in Saban's final season must have really made an impression?

Yeah, they should’ve dropped even further. One quality win all season against an overrated Notre Dame by a single point. Don’t worry, they will get exposed in the playoff.

Bama won’t be out, just follow the money.

The committee will do what ESPN tells them to do.

Just like when Saban played the respect card to knock out a Florida State team that was an unbeaten conference champion..

Might be true, but doesn't change the fact the Dame is given special treatment every year.

Alabama is 4-1 against ranked teams. Texas is 3-2. We beat UGA Texas could not.

Playoff bound from the state of Texas—Texas Tech, a&m, North Texas

I think 'Bama should get in.

I am fine with someone saying Alabama would not get in if their season ended today but can work their way in with an SEC championship game win.

But if someone says they should get in today but won't if they lose the SEC championship game, I have a problem with that.

Conference championship games should only help and never hurt. Just my opinion.

I agree that a loss in the Conf Champ Game should eliminate the loser, it is after all the FIRST Playoff Game. Other people, the ones chasing money and those bleating loudly for their favorite Team will disagree. To the point of stomping their feet and screaming.
