I just want to hear the CFP Chairman say, “we put Alabama at 4 because we wanted to see the melt on the Rant”.

It would be a glorious melt nationwide, but too much would have to happen to make it even tangentially justified

Alabama was 3 yards away from losing to Haynes King. They are not a national championship quality team this year.

And, a Mount Cody away from losing to UTk in 2009 and several other shite losses en route to NCs or finals.

The CFP combines SOS, W/L records, close losses vs blowouts, and the "eye test" for who they select for the playoff.
Doesn't mean 'Bama will get in, but their criteria for who makes it has been anything by cut and dry since this whole thing started.
