re: Coach O telling it like it is

Listening to all the “fit the culture” bs makes me wonder if it is just an excuse to make a change.

There is not another person in this world who is a fit and represents LSU more than Coach O. I mean that in the most positive way possible.

I love Coach O and the way he loved the university and players. You will never find another coach that special.

Talladega this weekend? Yes, for me, but only after the LSU game. And I won't be at the track - I'll be at the 600 yd rifle range at CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park sighting in a new rifle and purchasing another refurbished M1 and an Enfield M1917.

You sir, are a man’s man.

Yeah, but it was dropped.

I have several of the palmetto state micro dagger “micro slick” 15 round magazines that work very well in my 43x. No functional issues whatsoever…they are a bugger to get the 15th round in though.

You do not have to modify your mag release to use the micro dagger mags.

Yep, add dusting erasers and the smell of the copy machine papers (mimeograph?).

Fun times.
Pearl was Auburn’s Saban.

I love the guy and his style of basketball. He made the conference better and Bama wouldn’t have a coach like Oats if Auburn didn’t hire Pearl.

I hate to see him go…he was the best coach in the SEC.

Will he automatically get bama fans votes just because he is a great basketball coach?

If Pearl runs as a Republican, I will vote for him and Tubberville.

Some things are bigger than a damn game.

Hunted with my son’s 336y a few years ago on a whim…had it set up for him with whatever cheap scope that came with it.

The scope didn’t have much eye relief as it was, combined with the 1.5” shorter stock…it got me good.

I love that gun.

I shoot quite a bit of these.

The CCI quiet segmented round is very effective. I’ve taken swimming beavers with them and many squirrels. That segmented bullet that they load all the way from quiet to mini mag really is pure fury. I carry a Browning BL-22 loaded with the quiets on daily walks with the pup.

Almost every time a kid shoots another kid with a "found" gun it was a gun that that was "misplaced". I get it that it triggers you for someone to suggest owning a gun is not only a right but also a responsibility, for whatever twisted reason, but I would suggest most gun owners do indeed keep track of their guns and do not lose them like so many pocket combs....at least those responsible enough to own a gun, some are just too irresponsible to own a gun. Apparently you are among that group since you are defending them. There is no defense for it, if you are going to keep and own firearms do so with the sense of responsibility it requires. If you lose one now and then alongside the road or in a couch cushion you simply ain't fit to own one. You have the right to do so, you do not have the personal accountability to do so responsibly....

Nah.

frick you.
quote:

Its OK for y'all to do anything you like but if you're too irresponsible to keep track of a firearm you can't claim to be a responsible gun owner. If you have a lost pistol in your sofa, most likely a loaded pistol, you probably ought not keep guns about the place. The same is true for one that is lost in a vehicle or alongside the road somewhere.

I had this long, thought out reply including the question of whether you know of a situation where a misplaced weapon was used to harm an innocent bystander….

But I realized who I was responding to and just decided to offer a frick you.

So, frick you.

Looking around on Brownell’s sight, I noticed that they have the gen 1 Ruger American’s on sale. $360’ish for a 350 legend Ranch - and for those wanting to step up their game (lol). …6.5CM versions for $330’ish. You can’t beat that.
I just purchased a Dogtra Pathfinder 2 mini for my small beagle for $429.

It’s the only tracking collar I’ve ever had but I highly recommend it.

I have a buddy who uses the Garmin units and says they are great too.
In Alabama, I never renewed once constitutional carry was confirmed.

My biggest reason was the fricking fellow at the sheriffs office who laughed when I said hopefully one day we wouldn’t need to buy a permit.

Well, frick that little goober. They dont get that $20/year from me anymore.

I travel exclusively in the southern states and don’t see a problem.

Same here and I agree.
Good suggestions already in this thread.. have a couple of the Morakniv’s mentioned and can’t be beat for the money. I vaguely remember being 10, but there was always something cool about having a knife on a belt. A Buck 110 was the knife to have back in the day. I have my dad’s now that has been sharpened to a razors edge (not by me). It was sharpened last by the designated camp sharpener - he was “The Man”. I’ll pass it on to my son. No telling how many deer it skinned in it’s day.

Get him a cool belt knife and get you the Outdoor Ege mentioned. It’s without a doubt the one to use when you want to get the skinning done quickly. My son worked for a processor and would skin all day and he used the Outdoor Edge.

One of the coolest “why didn’t I think of that” moments was looking at their skinning rack. They used an electric hoist and an anchored eye bolt of course..but on one of the support columns they had one of the $2 Harbor Freight magnetic tool holders that he would stick his knives to while he was skinning. I just thought that was brilliant.

I’d say get him a Buck 110 or one of the fixed blade Bucks - both still USA made evidently, and still under $100.

You are a good dad and raising him right!
