Every major school with legitimate playoffs aspirations should only play cupcakes until conference starts.

This is the world they created. Somehow, it gets even shittier.

The Big12 teams (and the like) should be the ones having to justify their schedules. Not the SEC teams trying to explain losses.

And Indiana. It's a low bar, but at least ND played some teams with a number next to their name this year. IU not playing a ranked team until the meaningless B1G 10 championship is an insult to everyone else who scheduled actual competition.

Why the hell were we going to play USF for a 3rd time in 4 years?
I was wondering the same thing. Was it a 2x home and away thing?

Yes, the number one seed going into the SEC championship game. That's who we are.

If Texas doesn't make the playoff, it won't be because they lost to Ohio State. It will be because they lost to Florida and needed overtime to beat Kentucky and State.

That’s why each school should only be allowed one cupcake a year. Go to 10 sec games and make the BIG do the same.

All OSU will hear for a decade if Bama drops us from their OOC is that OSU doesn’t play anyone or is scared of the SEC.

# of wins is all that matters now. You gotta stack them wherever you can get them, especially playing in a tough conference.

Like FSU?

Yes actually. Playing a talented team first game of the season at their stadium in the rain...is not the same as playing Marshall at home. If Bama plays Chattanooga instead of FSU and still plays that bad...they still win the game. FSU gave Miami a tough game. They choked away the game against Virginia(who will likely be ACC champ). The team was talented but folded...much like South Carolina this year or LSU.

Theres no reason to give a team like this the chance to beat you with their one good effort all season in the first game. Zero logical reason. I realize that jealousy clouds the minds of everyone regarding anything Alabama though so logic doesnt apply.

The best team OSU played all season...was a team that finished 7th in the SEC.

I hope the SEC starts scheduling Purdue, Rutgers, Maryland etc so the Committee can no longer give yall brownie points for destroying FBS bottom feeders...that SEC teams also destroyed

I don't think anyone would say OSU is scared to schedule competition. Over the past 10 years they've scheduled home and homes with OU, ND, Texas, Oregon, etc.

They can't help it if their conference schedule is an absolute joke every year.

Ohio State has proven they are not scared to play the big boys OOC. Anyone arguing otherwise is doing so in bad faith.

And the USF game wasn't cancelled. It was pushed to a later year.

Bama should never schedule another semi tough team out of conference.

Not to mention USF will likely be in a bit of a rebuild next year post-Golesh year 1 and ECU is coming off back to back 8 win seasons in the same league as USF.

USF is a great program now after being led by Comrade Golesh. That’s why Auburn hired him.

Every SEC Team should follow our lead on this, especially with the conference adding a 9th game. If you’re serious about making the playoff, then do everything you can to mitigate losses because the SEC schedule will be tough enough.

This is the world Sankey and the CFP Committee have created.
