12 team playoff is dumb.
Texas lost that game for the same reason Colt got injured - you got manhandled at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Losing a title bc the best qb in cfb gets hurt on a fluke play, and is replaced by a true freshman who still almost wins, on the first drive in the national championship game sucks pretty bad
Maybe you lost your QB because your line was incapable of blocking defenders.
Would you like to revisit the "fluke" play to see just how badly Alabama shut down every aspect of the Texas offense on it? From your lineman trying chop blocks and getting their faces shoved in the ground leading to lineman running freely down the line, to your pitch man being covered so well it would have been a TD for Alabama if Colt tosses it leading him to option up field, to your other lineman getting stuff and colt running into them leading to that unblocked lineman slamming into your limp body QB.
Texas fans really don't know shite about football.

Texas was never winning that game...

Yeah... but it would have been different against UGA if your WR's hadn't been hurt right. That's different because.... reasons.
UGA fans always bring this up; they are apparently very insecure about that season. Injuries are part of the game, Georgia capitalized, and got the trophy. That’s all that matters. That said, if I have to answer the above question with a gun to my head, the answer is “yes.” The ‘reasons’ you ask? We actually saw that game and it was a complete beatdown. What a dumb post for you to make.

I’ll refrain from taking personal shots, but the entire offensive philosophy was built on quick & accurate passing, which Colt damn near won 2 heismans for. He got hurt on blind side hit in the back on a qb keeper out of the gun, which should have never been called in the first place, but Greg Davis got nostalgic over what Young did a few years prior

You don't even know the play called. It was not a QB keeper at all, he was forced to keep the ball by the Alabama defense.

2010 called. It wants its post-game whining excuse back.

If those meddling Tennessee people hadn't interfered at the Alamo, Texas would have won that fight. Oh, it's true!

Colt and his daddy quit on Texas. That isn’t Alabama’s fault.

I gave a full breakdown of the play already. It was a speed sweep. It was not a QB draw or QB designed run.
Dareus came all the way from the other side of the line. You can't even really see your OL #63 he got owned so badly until he's getting up after everyone else is running to the ball. Straight shoved to the ground like a bitch.
On the other side, #3 for Alabama reads the play and blows up the option. If Colt pitches the ball as designed, it's either a TD for Alabama or at best a 6 yard loss.
So Colt is forced to hold onto the ball and makes the cut up field.
Only your O-Line as a whole has gotten stuffed and they are basically still at the LOS, and Colt has no where to go, and takes the hit from Dareus.
This is the reality. If you want to talk football, then at least know the damn play.
Personally, I half think he pussed out after getting hit. First he's like he got the breathe knocked out of him, he's moving his arms fine. Then he's bent over on the sideline, and the final diagnosis is somehow he can't move his shoulder/arm.
Maybe realized Alabama had multiple Suh types he was going to be getting hit by all night.
But I hate to put such an accusation on someone, so I don't generally say much. Maybe it was a legit one of a kind injury that nobody can explain and the array of symptoms is part of it.
You'd think a guy who was that great and was going to win a game like this all on his own would have done better in the NFL though.

No, you were outmanned at almost every position. Bama ran the ball on you all night and made you like it. We had not 1, but two 100 yard rushers that night.
But McCoy would have played both ways and had 4 pick 6s and on offense run for 4 TDs and kicked 3 FGs. Ask any Texican. They tell bigger lies than even a Bama fan does.

That is hilariously stupid and foolish to argue by now.
We know what Bama was that year. Texas had a bitch schedule and a bitch QB. We smoked y'all and would have done so worse had he stayed in, imo. In 2009, Bama has just begun proving itself as a 4 quarter behemoth.
Texas was lucky to be competitive in that game at all.

He could move his arm but had zero feeling in it and didn't get it fully back until days after the game iirc. When you can't feel what you're doing that means zero touch on the ball. He knew throwing ducks all over the field would have been a liability and that's why he didn't come back in.
