I am only commenting on the Bama schedule...

Only win against a team ranked at end of season is LSU at 23rd. Only other game against ranked team was a loss... Just the facts ma'am.

Except that's a load of boooolshite.

No team - not even Oklahoma - controls how well another team plays before and after the game in which they play them. You only know how good they are when you do play them. That's just common sense.

Well, except in the case of LSU, we demoralized them back to the stone age apparently. But I digress.

If you are only commenting on Bama's schedule... you can take any known strength of schedule comparison you care to name and throw both teams up on the board.

Sagarin? Bama 5, Oklahoma 20.

BEFORE the season even started, Bama had the #4 SOS ranking while Oklahoma was... #88. This was using the NCAA method uses winning percentage of opponents, but now excludes records of FCS teams, FBS Transitional teams, and bowl games.

And frankly, you might have trouble understanding the fact that when... you - us - or anybody... wins against an opponent, that opponent has a new loss. And is thus likely to drop in the rankings. The only fair way to compare the quality of opponent is at the time of the game when it happens. Not sure why this is so difficult to grasp for you.

Look im not saying Bama isnt deserving of the playoff, Im talking current ranked teams. We all know the SEC was grossly overrated through september and Bama lost to ole miss. OU has 3 wins over CURRENT top 15 teams. That is not something to scoff at. Like I said before Bama and OU are IMO a step above the other contenders. I just think Bama benefited a lot from a vastly overrated SEC.

Weren't 2 of those teams missing their starting qb?

And one of those was missing a top2-3 wr in the country too.

You can say the exact same thing about OU and the Big 12.

I mean some one in the SEC west has to take the L's. This year they were spread around evenly. The big 12 has 3 teams and 9 others that don't have pulses. Kansas, Kansas state, iowa state, texas, west virginia all were horrendous this year. So average teams like Oklahoma state and Baylor have a lot of W's and as a result are ranked high.

Who in there right mind would have wanted to play Alabama's schedule. They played Wisconsin, went on the road to Georgia, Texas A&M, Miss state, and auburn. Played Tennessee, LSU, and Ole Miss at home. Alabama had to get up for more weeks then any other team in the country. There were no patsys like Baylor does playing 4 non conference games against no bodies and then still plays 5 crap conference teams.

Oklahoma's Schedule:

Akron (7-5)
Tennessee (8-4)
Tulsa (6-6)
West Virginia (7-4)
Texas (4-7)
Kansas St (5-6)
Texas Tech (7-5)
Kansas (0-12)
Iowa State (3-9)
Baylor (9-2) (lost starting QB) (still to play Texas possibly 10-2)
TCU (10-2)
Oklahoma St (10-2)

Opponent Overall Record:
76-64 (54% winning percentage; possibly 55% with Baylor winning)

Alabama's Schedule:

Wisconsin (9-3)
Midd Tenn St (7-5)
Ole Miss (9-3)
ULM (1-11)
Georgia (9-3)
Arkansas (7-5)
TAMU (8-4)
Tenn (8-4)
LSU (8-3) ***Cancelled a game against McNeese
Miss St (8-4)
Charleston Southern (9-2)
Auburn (6-6)
Florida (10-2)

Opponent Overall Record:
99-55 (64% winning percentage) with an extra game.

It's casting stones if we are considering the amount of 10 win teams. If both make it to the championship game. Each team would have played potentially SIX 10 win teams. Bama would have played potentially SEVEN 10 win teams if LSU did not cancel their first game against McNeese state.

Bama analytics at their best.

OU's opp win % is certain at 54.22 regardless of who wins the BU-Texas game because they are both in the conference. dummy.

This is the problem being overlooked comparing conferences when teams play an unequal number of conference games.

the Pac 12 has 55 guaranteed losses. SEC has 57 with 2 additional teams to spread said losses around. the three conferences playing 8 game conference schedules are better positioned to rank higher on the this very flawed strength of schedule formula simply because they have fewer unavoidable conference losses per team. (4.07 losses per team versus 4.58 for pac12. The big 12 has 4.5 per team)

Why is OK St even in the top 15? They struggled with K State, Texas and Iowa State. Their only notable win is over TCU and TCU is only ranked as high as they are because of preseason polls (near losses to both Kansas schools and only notable wins came over WVU and Baylor down to their third string QB).

The Big 12 has three teams fighting for second place. The rest of the conference ranges from downright terrible to mediocre providing for (what should be) auto-wins pushing those three teams up the rankings.

The SEC West has four; throw in UT and UF (with Grier) from the East and you end up with a conference cannibalizing itself.

I really feel like OK state is badly overrated. They are one dimensional on offense. I'd take OM over them right now and probably TN as well. I think big and physical is how you handle them. If you can't run in the sec you will struggle.

Clemson? The same Clemson that struggled to beat a 3-9 South Carolina team?
