Attend! The other day I read an exclusive essay (I'm subscribed to this particular catalog) by Philip Ilgauskas about dynasties of the ancient world, and whilst I was annotating, I cogitated about the stupidity of the media referring to Alabama's run as a "dynasty". If you want to talk about a dynasty, consider the word in the context of the true meaning. In the article, Ilgauskas took into account the reign of the Zhou Dynasty which, "notwithstanding to the peripety of notion, perpetuated, hitherto, a well-nigh, infallible command of the Yellow River Valley for seven-hundred ninety years," (Ilgauskas 3).

Yes, it is incredible that Alabama has been able to sustain success, but if Alabama were a true dynasty, then we would not have seen national championship games involving Oregon (2), Auburn (2), Ohio State, and Florida State over the past ten years. A true dynasty is an unwavering, hereditary command which lasts many years without interruption from an enemy force. I am aware that the University of Alabama may not be the best place for an education, but still, I would have expected more from people who claim to have graduated from said university than to tarnish the connotation of the word "dynasty". How far have we fallen in America where the complete disrespect of connotary rights is considered appropriate? Quit eulogizing the status of your football team when 'tis not illustrious enough to have earned the right of eulogy!

In context no dynasty. Phil Jackson says you need to win 3 in a row for it to be a dynasty. Maybe one day Alabama can be a dynasty

Well, that all depends on how you want to claim titles. UCF insisted on sharing the 2017 title with Bama so the NCAA listed it in their document, but also had to put Bama's claim to a shared natty the year before. pages 110-115

Since the NCAA doesn't have a national championship for division 1 college football, the championships are determined by polls.

Alabama has won the title 3 separate times with 3 in a row (according to the NCAA document listing titles). Counting all polls, not just the major ones.

1. 1964 (AP & UPI); 1965 (AP, NCF); 1966 (Berryman, Sagarin)

2. 1977, (Football Research); 1978 (AP, NCF; NFF) 1979 (AP & UPI)

3. 2015 (College Football Playoff, AP, FW-NFF, USA Today); 2016 (Colley); 2017 (College Football Playoff, AP, FW-NFF, USA Today)

Not counting just the major polls, Nebraska also won 3 in a row in the 90's; Army in the 40's; Oklahoma in the 50's; Minnesota in the 30's; & I'm sure there are more.

Bama doesn't count all these titles though (1966, 1977, 2016). Trying to give the other teams a chance now and then.

This is...eesh. If you're going to use a thesaurus for a word or two, look up the definitions of the replacement words first. Even when technically correct, a word can be contextually stupid. Or should I say "acerebral" here?

My spellcheck is putting red squiggly line under "acerebral," but I assure everyone that it is, in fact, a real word.

So basically the only college dynasty of all time are UCLA Basketball from 1967-1973, and even that is a stretch as it didn't even last a decade led alone a century.

Ah yes I really have to commend you on the use of acerebral, however, you are guilty of the same mistake that you are fallaciously accusing me of in this context.

I figured I should go ahead and use 'acerebral' while I could. There are plenty of chances to use 'pedantic' in this life, but there's literally no way to use 'acerebral' seriously without sounding like a pompous arse.

You're not very quick on the uptake, are you? Or should I say, "You're kinda dum-dum" here?
