I sometimes wonder what it feels like to be a fan of a team that the greatest coach in modern college football history used as a stepping stone to the NFL.

And then, that great coach decided to come back to college & go to not only the same conference but the same division, and some say your team's greatest rival, to coach that team to one of the greatest "sports dynasties" in history. And in the process shutting out his old team twice, once denying them a national championship, and defeating them 8 years in a row.

Fans of said coach's old team, probably go to sleep at night with that thought of how it could have been, if only that coach had stayed with them and not used them as a stepping stone to better jobs.

It's really hard for Bama fans to know how that feels.

All good except that he didn't use them. He loved the damn corndogs. Probably still does. I still contend that if Miles had gone to Michigan, Saban would have been back in BR before Miles got to Ann Arbor.

He was lured away by one of the greatest salesmen of our time. He never wanted to leave BR.

With that said, I believe if he had stayed at LSU, he would be at Texas now. They too would have lured him away.

frick Alabama, but if Alabama hasn’t had a dynasty over the past ten years then dynasties simply do not exist in CFB.
