Sorry I'm late but the REC has taken control over the situation. The arresting officer will be transferred and will be the new crossing guard at several school zones. Lack of evidence will dismiss all charges against Geno and the Chief will personally issue an apology to Geno as well as the entire UA community.

On a closely related note you should watch videos made by attys in Alabama on You Tube..a real eye opener on what to do and not do.
Fellows the Constabulary are NOT our friends. Wrote my daughter a Move Over Law ticket the other day despite his not having his blue lights on and he was sitting by thr roadside inside his vehicle. She even had a witness.

He will still start and probably have to apologize to the MADD. Saban will make him run which in turn will make get him in better shape. He will then be hailed as a role model.

Belue actually had solid coverage on Mett's two biggest plays. They were just two perfect throws that would have been extremely difficult to defend.

Just looked at Smith's Twitter and it looks like he just had an old high school teammate die from breaking his neck during a football game on Friday. He was Shaq Wiggins old teammate too. Absolutely not excusing, but it might explain why he was being so wreckless and stupid
You should order hooked on phonix, my friend.

No, I revisited the old J Hill threads and most Bama fans were actually pretty common sense. Most of the witch burners were Aggies. Not sure why.
I think both of us, hell nearly all FBS fanbases, except Stanford have seen enough of this to finally accept it. The Aggies are always on the outside looking in. Woulda said Vandy... but, uh...not anymore.

In other words, nothing to see here, move along.
Saban will tell Geno he has been a bad boy, use better judgement next time, go run 10 stadiums and all is well.

Sounds about right. I'm surprised you are being so reasonable.

Preaching to the choir my friend.. Cause and effect analysis isn't a strong suite with the power brokers in Washington - that is unless it adds or lessens control and revenue. If we had a logically functioning government, we would have adopted something like Portugal's model by now.

DUI= potentially deadly outcome. I do not subscribe to the I'm a 20 year old or college kids are gonna do this. No, they are representatives of the University. If we are gonna call them regular college students then take away the free tuition, books, housing and all the perks that go along with playing college football and make them pay their way and struggle like the rest of us did like "normal" college students do. You get all this and part of your committment back to the school is to keep yourself out of trouble. You ARE NOT an ordinary student and you have to hold yourself to higher standards.
I hope he is back at his home tonight. He was a starter and I say this. Until there is a zero tolerance policy these idiots will continue to be the players that are a part our university's representation. Letting him back in any way just says "son you get second chances in this world all the time" and unfortunately, we dont always get second chances and would teach him a bigger life lesson than letting him play. Any of these self-induced screw ups need to purged. All schools.

Damn, I go to work and come back to find that ALOT of people really care about Geno Smith.
ETA: Saban should cut him from the team. Teach him a lesson. But he won't.

Women Driving=Potentially deadly outcome.
Pay the fine, do the time, play the fricking game.
Nothing like a good DUI or UPOCs to get all the self-righteous assholes out of their caves and on their high horses.

I agree.
I bet after he has hours of community service and serves a healthy suspension he'll devote an effort to focus.

Yup.
I don't get on a high horse about this type of stuff. Saban is extremely lax in off field discipline, but he can afford to be for two main reasons:
1. The players fear him.
2. There are so many talented players waiting to take anyone's place. Saban has shown he will oversign and cut without impunity and everyone knows it.
Bigger picture, a DUI is more serious that possession without intent to distribute, but DUI laws have gotten so fricked up over the last decade or two, some dui's are a joke and not even deserving of a reprimand or any type of punishment.
IMO, if he blew and was over .14, he should be suspended or kicked off the team. If he was over .16, no doubt about it. Approximately 85% of DUI fatalities are people with a BAC over .16 (or .18 I forget which it is). If he was under .10, he probably should not have even been arrested.
That is another discussion though.
