How the hell do you gameplan against these guys?...they can't rebound...there's no threat in the paint....they've got no "stop him and you win" player to contend with...they don't shoot free throws well...they constantly turn the ball over. They've got to be a nightmare to play until somebody figures them out.
It feels like a rag-tag team of guys that have a lot of deficiencies, can't do any one thing great, but work together to make shite happen and play with a ton of heart.

There are 5-6 top 100 players on this Bama team that aren't Obasohan, Kessens or Edwards... Bama fans have been trying to convince themselves that this team is full of walk ons or something. These were mostly all State players and Class Players of the year. LOL yes Grant had a knack for regressing players but Bama has some good talent.

All they really needed was coaching... we've barely missed several tourneys with Grant... we had the players but not the coaching.

I already said this in the South Carolina-UK thread, but it's really impossible to beat UK at this time. It's one of the reasons we see them continually make runs to the final four, despite starting the season off slow. Once their freshman get experience, develop that chemistry, it takes a near perfect game to compete with them. Right now, Ulis and Murray are playing some of the best basketball in the country right now and are arguably the best guard tandem.

I'll be shocked if Bama can avoid getting run out of the building. But crazier things have happened. I surely didn't expect that game Bama had in Rupp when you had Anthiny Davis, Terrance Jones, and Darius Miller.

I think it can be a competitive game if the momentum is sustained going into it. Hopefully we can avoid another Tennessee slip up though.

Don't get me wrong. I think Bama is hot, but right now, UK is playing their best ball as well. I think Cal has only lost 4 games in Rupp. I. Can see UK going 5-1 rest of the season.

The key to UK is Ulis..nothing to lose I'd throw a gimmicky defense at him like a box and one the ball has to be gotten away from him

So did Kentucky. It's definitely our worst loss. Congrats. See y'all at Coleman. Bring lube.

I wouldn't say that.

We had an 8-point lead and instead of trying to put it away we just played lackadaisical and careless.

Not to mention it's not hard to beat a team (even by 7 points) that misses FIFTEEN FREE THROWS.....

You can attribute that to coaching (no mental toughness). When LSU had a chance to put it away, they let up. When Alabama got the chance, they put their foot on LSUs throat...game over.

Yeah...that was pretty embarrassing now that you mentioned it....losing to such a piece of shite, no talent, no coaching, no nothing-going-for-it team like Auburn...i guess shite happens.

no, we haven't ... we know that there is talent there ... we also know that the talent has not been developed offensively ... grant made them play hard, as a team, but he knew as much about offense as i know about a foreign language ... this is their first year under someone who might know/seems to know something about sets, offensive philosophy, etc ...

you might lose in the tournament just to get a day off, which would be absolutely fine ... no one wants to play uk right now or in the tournament since ya'll have increased your scoring a bit ...

I've seen several Bama fans on this site that have acted like Avery has had as big a rebuilding job as Pearl has had. Bama has some talent. It's not like he inherited a depleted roster, like Pearl. Avery is definitely doing a better job than Grant did, no doubt, but he's had something to work with.

Coachcrisp, but you had to see it coming in one of the Bama upcoming games after the LSU game. It would be nearly impossible for the new Alabama coach to have the team firing on all cylinders for every game during the season. He is a first year coach with these guys, still taking time getting his system and way of thinking instilled. No matter where the Bama team finishes this season, have to be impressed with the job done by Coach Johnson.
