Most passing yards given up in SEC history by a QB who sucks - LSU...
Would be a Matt Canada feel to it and our DC would be wise to pass. Coach O likes to run a 4-3 and Arnett runs a 3-3-5. I could see O trying to dictate at times and f’ing up the whole system.
He won’t be there in 3-yrs, which is how many recruiting cycles it will take to fix that defense. Freeze shite the bed in defensive recruiting his last 2-yrs and Luke never even crawled in the bed...
Archie Manning
Chad Kelly
Dak Prescott
John Bond
Tommy Hodson
Shane Matthews
Probably Fletcher Cox. 6-yr $103M with $63M guaranteed.
It's not as bad as some would like to convey, but it is a small MS town that is better than most because the college is there. Not sure what you are going there for or what you are into, but I would recommend staying at the Courtyard across the street from campus. From that location you can walk to campus and also walk to the Cotton District (restaurants and bars). There is also a golf cart type "taxi" service called Cowbell Carts that will take you to both if you prefer not to walk and is inexpensive.

There are a few decent bars in that area including Staggerin, Bin 612, and Commodore Bob's. I would also recommend going to 2 brothers smoked meats and grabbing an order of the pulled pork nachos (instead of tortilla chips they use homemade fried pork rinds). Their pork belly tacos are also really good.

Go to the MAFES store on campus and grab some Muscadine Ripple ice cream to eat and a ball of Edam cheese to take home with you. Go take a walk through the new baseball stadium. Others have given some solid recommendations too.

There are a couple good breakfast spots a short drive from that hotel too - Starkville Café and City Bagel.
Weird how several of the regional and national talking heads are breaking this game down and pointing to LSU's defense against our offense as the key to the game. Odd that they don't mention that our defense is better than LSU's and the offenses pretty much both suck.

He should take whatever he can. Boosters are apparently willing to go to court to adjust his buyout

I'm sure decent coaches would be lining up to take a job that just screwed the previous coach out of an agreed upon buyout. Especially any Jimmy Sexton clients and he rules the SEC...

I knew it from the Jump. You can be awkward and good at recruiting. See harbaugh. You can't be awkward, a try hard, arrogant and a dick. That makes people just loathe you

Our team did the same thing when he was at State. They called it the midnight lift and the players had fun with it and wore costumes too. Luckily, our school didn't release a lame arse video about it, though.

To your point - Mullen is an absolute dick. I'm a member of a national engineering society and the State conference was in Starkville last year. Some of the the door prizes they gave away were several balls autographed by Cann (pun intended), a basketball autographed by Howland (he spoke to us too), and a football autographed by Mullen.

I overheard the pres of the org say that Mullen "declined" to sign the football so the pres bought one and stood in line at an event in Jackson to get it signed. Important note is that pres of our org WORKS AT MSU - he had to drive to Jackson and stand in line for 2-hours. Also note that 85% of the engineers in MS went to State.

Having said that - the sumbitch can coach football. He's a dick, but not too long ago I was perfectly fine with him being "my dick".

And yet they picked up commitments and currently have the second best class in the country for 2019

They have 12 commits. Take a look at the average ranking per commit. MSU is ranked 18 with only 5 commits and our average is higher than OMs.

Also out of the three 4* players that are committed: Ealy is a top baseball prospect and is probably going MLB, and Black has no chance to qualify. Dude won't even graduate his grades are so bad - he will have to pass the GED to get into JUCO. Even the OM cheerleader (Yancy) is admitting this.

Enjoy the spring recruiting banner, though...
You forgot McKinney on your list for the Texans. He was 13th in the league in total tackles this year. And in true Mullen fashion, he was a 2* recruit out of a tiny school in the MS delta...
2 with Mullen. Would be 3 points higher because our offense is still decent breaking in a new QB. However he hired this shitty DC so...
Our loss was much worse than Kentucky's. Southern Miss would kill South Al.

it really is ridiculously convenient.

Yep. We pay for a setup too. Two of my group come from Memphis so they are the closest to campus in our group. I have a 4-hr drive, another guy has a 7-hr drive, and the final guy has a 9-hr drive. Would be a pain in the arse if we had to setup our own and we'd be a mile from the Junction area. It is nice to show up with a cooler and some food to share and the TV is already on for us.

A family member and his group stopped paying for the setup a few years back and bought equipment (including entertainment trailer) for their own really nice setup that they've been upgrading each year with the money the would have each spent on the setup. But they all live in Starkville and can go to campus at 4:00 on Friday to claim their spot - not possible for any of my group.
Scott Field/Davis Wade Stadium is the 2nd oldest on campus stadium in the nation.

Please let Vandy play a series in Starkville next year. Would love to see 3-4 MSU fans sitting behind him taking turns ringing a cowbell in his ear nonstop for 27 innings...
I fell asleep before the end - what did he say? Did he channel his inner Mainieri doucheness and throw some players under the bus?
At least our coach looks like a man when he melts...

He's more than a little skittish about this fiasco or he wouldn't be asking for the information in the deposition to be sealed so that the NCAA can't get their dirty claws on the material.

He (and the rest of the OM admin) are skittish because they either don't know OR they do know what other tidbits the hacker may have. I wouldn't go on the record either only to be proven a liar.

They are guilty, we all know it, and they know it. The only questions now are (1) will the NCAA find enough ammo to hammer them?, (2) will the NCAA use the proven level 1 academic fraud issues to hammer them anyway even if they can't prove their other suspicions?, or (3) will they get off with a moderate slap on the wrist? I'm going with options 2 or 3.
