Avery has them playing as a team. It really showed when Retin fouled out against UF. He sat down and Taylor took over both ends. Coleman hadn't been shooting very often but now he seems to be able to hit enough to pull the defense out to open up other players. If they play together, they can be good.

, if Alabama can hold serve at home (MSU,Auburn and Hogs) and win a SEC tourney game or 2, they should be dancing this season.IMO.............who'd a thunk

If they keep it respectable at KY, win out at home, I think their IN. Even if they lose to UGA. I don't think winning a game in the SEC Tournament matters either way. Obviously it won't hurt, but not sure it's a have too

Bama is the type of team that you play, lose to, and when you get back to the locker room you ask your how in hell did we lose to that bunch of scrubs.
The team with the most talent doesn't always win.

How the hell do you gameplan against these guys?...they can't rebound...there's no threat in the paint....they've got no "stop him and you win" player to contend with...they don't shoot free throws well...they constantly turn the ball over.

They have a ton of heart and are playing with great confidence right now, those two things trump a lot of what you listed.

I said the same thing last night and after the FLA win.

I find myself cursing our players one second and then I jump up clapping and praising them the next.

The support from the bench is huge right now too.

I wouldn't say that.

We had an 8-point lead and instead of trying to put it away we just played lackadaisical and careless.

Not to mention it's not hard to beat a team (even by 7 points) that misses FIFTEEN FREE THROWS.....

Retin is that guy

He's been that guy against LSU

Yes he has. The Tigers are weak against slashing guards like Retin, which is hard to comprehend after that was a relative strength last year with mostly the same cast of guards. Guess they miss having Mickey on the back end now that I think about it.
As for the Tigers, they did give that game away, missing 15 foul shots and an amazing 20 shots in the lane, not to mention a dozen wide-open three's. Had to play poorly to lose it. Credit to 'Bama and especially their guards who totally out-played LSU's guards other than Keith Hornsby. Avery Johnson will return the Tide to being a regular contender if he stays in Tuscaloosa.

Oh yeah. It's called the Shame Technique and it works in many facets of life I've discovered. Just remember to praise as much or more than you shame. Unless your team loses, of course.

I believe Avery will be an elite coach in the college ranks. I was very impressed watching Alabama last night.

Slow your roll Bammers...take away one half of the Tennessee game, UK has won by a margin of 24.5 pts/game vs their opponents past 5 games.

I posted this past weekend y'all are tourney team (said y'all be seeded higher then LSU in the NCAA's). I like what Avery is building in T Town.

I don't think a single one of us expects to go into Rupp and win. That game isn't being counted towards the tourney resume.

What we're looking at is outside of y'all we finish with Miss State, Auburn, and Arky at home and end the season @UGA. With the road wins over UF and LSU, simply winning the home games puts us at 19-11 overall and 10-8 in the conference with a great RPI, really good OOC wins, and a high SOS - probably good enough to get in the tourney. Throw in a win @UGA and it would be a virtual certainty.

The Bama fans around here have been pretty reasonable about expectations, including coming to Rupp. They have every right to be pretty excited if Avery can sustain that kind of improvement.
