I supported since early 80’s.. so I’ve seen it all pretty much.. it’s hard to explain what’s going on right now.. simply amazing & most fans are spoiled kids.. I’d have to say the “Mike” years were the worst.. imo

I find myself wearing more Bama gear (hat usually) when the team isn’t doing great.

I live in TN, and wearing Bama gear now makes me feel like a dick.

Most young Bama fans stem from parents or grandparents who saw paul coach. The blood runs deep in Alabama. There’s not as many band wagoners as you think.

We were expanding Bryant-Denny before Saban even got there.

Of course we all know LSU didn’t pickup any bandwagon fans when Saban took over in 2000.

Through the Bryant years, in the mountains
of N.E. Alabama, listening to the games
on radio with my Dad---to the military overseas
---back to becoming a UA grad---to moves around
the country---through the ups and downs of
Alabama football, thinking I'd never see anything
close to the Bryant era---and then came Saban !
What a ride !

Can you blame "diehard LSU fans" for jumping off the foundering LSU shrimp boat like rats? Far better to be sailing on this...

GO and do likewise...

Oh... I watched the Rice-Alabama Cotton Bowl game on TV... one of the first games ever televised... when Tommy Lewis came off the bench and tackled Dick Maegle in 1954. Since I later became 4th generation Alabama, I guess you could say I started liking them in 1954.

Attended mt first Bama game in 1956 and have been a fan since then and am a Graduate of Alabama. Feel like this qualifies me to be a "fan" of the Crimson tide!!

Can’t speak for any of the others but I’ve been a Bama fan since the late 1970’s. Continued to support them through the 80’s when the were good but certainly not great. After a mini-renaissance under Stallings, the next decade of revolving coaches and general mediocrity has made me appreciate this run all the more. So I don’t think I qualify as a band wagon fan.
