an improper lunch at a restaurant with “impermissible contact.” This is a petty thing to “bust” in the context of what coaches do.

You can rest easy because that is in fact petty among all the stupid things Wade did, which resulted in LSU firing the guy to try to dave the program. Problem is they should have done it long ago rather than going all gangsta

One thing I don't understand. With the way Wade didn't compromise with the investigation, how did the NCAA get his personal phone records and private bank statements? They have no subpoena power.

Paragraph 9 of the NOA details this. Basically the NCAA and LSU tried to obtain Wade's digital devices and bank account info numerous times throughout the 3 yr investigation and Wade failed to cooperate. Wade's getting a Level I infraction because he withheld information, delayed the investigation, and and knowingly provided false or misleading information to the NCAA enforcement staff and the CCU.

He lied to LSU and the NCAA and refused to cooperate during the investigation. LSU should've fired him the moment he refused to cooperate and turn over his phone records. I feel sure his contract requires him to cooperate in any investigation conducted on his program. Instead, he lied and slow-played it for years while he pulled a salary from LSU.
