I'm glad you guys are so satisfied with a 3rd place finish in the division every 5 years. Our goals don't really conflict so everyone can be happy.

I agree that our goals don’t conflict. We’re all aware that LSU values division standings over national. You have to after January 9, 2012.

As a Mizzou fan, I feel the same way about basketball especially living in KC. It is just a conglomerate of Big 12 basketball fans. SEC basketball has gotten better, and so has Mizzou, but I don't know if it will ever hit the level it was with the Big12 rivals.

I do not miss Big12 football at all. The only issue I have had with SEC is the scheduling cross divisional games. I do want the 9 game schedule to play teams more often.

If any of them answer with anything but “we aren’t good enough to compete in the SEC”, their answer is void due to obvious homerism

Probably would have won the B12 in 12 & 13.

Still no regrets

No. I’ve attended far more SEC games than I have Big 12 games

Oh, hell yes.

Love the competition and stadiums?

Ditto.

Nope. I wish A&M still played t.u., but I'm not sure young'uns are that interested or that they really "get it". It is becoming less of a concern every year.

As for the others... Waco vs. Oxford? Lubbock vs. Gainesville? Ames vs. Columbia SC? No? Didn't think so!

What are your overall thoughts on the SEC move in general and are you glad you are with us?

Best move Texas A&M athletics has ever made. By far.

what are the pros and cons in your opinion?

Pros are of course the better competition, recruiting advantage, and the venues as I already mentioned. The only con for me is scheduling. A&M still hasn't played UGA or UK (though UK gets a checkmark this year).

Disclaimer: I was an SEC football fan before A&M joined.

Yes, glad we made the move for many reasons.

Competition is great, stadiums are great as well, only place I haven't been is Vandy and USC (haven't been to any since we joined, work has prevented this)

Don't miss the Big 12 at all

The move got us more publicity nationally, we played better competition, and we have much better places to go to for road games now. Yeah glad to be here it's done wonders for College Station as well, which is a blessing and a curse since I live there.

Biggest Pro is no matter how much the fans of the schools in this conference May dislike another fan base, the schools themselves seem like they try to do what's best for the whole and not just one or two schools. The cons I've been realistic from the start and knew it was going to take several years for us to be competitive in this conference.

Don't judge fan reception by message boards. Most of the hostile posters are just smack talking and would likely be friendly if you met them in person. Of course just the fact that someone is on a message board means there's a 75% chance they're not normal anyway.

I know I am one of many who are glad that you and Missouri have joined the conference.

When A&M and Missouri moved over to the SEC, only then did I realize the rancor that existed in the big 12. I was a little surprised at it. SEC fans go after each other pretty good but I think most of it is friendly banter. I have known fans from most of the SEC schools and they all enjoy football and enjoy poking each other. Very few fans of other schools that I have known that I disliked.

overall it's an incredible move for the university.

takes some balls to switch conferences and they did it.

I mean yea the SEC is hard as frick but you get a ton of exposure and get to compete against some classic college football programs.

Moving to the SEC was a no brainer. After nebraska and colorado left, I was so sick of hearing about the breaking apart of the big 12 and figuring out where everyone would land. The idea of A&M in the PAC made no sense to me, other than we would just be tagging along with Texas. That's no way to try to distinguish yourself.

The Big 12 is on the chopping block within the next 6-8 years. And Thank God that A&M doesn't have to worry about 'conference stability' anymore.

It was a great move for the school and I think support of it has been pretty unanimous among our fans. The road trips and home schedule are certainly better.

The biggest pro in my opinion that I haven’t seen touched on yet is I think the move has pushed us to reach higher as a program. I think we would have been perfectly content to keep things status quo if we stayed in the Big 12, with our fans and admin not really committing what’s required for a championship program. Iron sharpens iron, and I think the move was a wake up call to our fans and administrators on the level we need to strive for to compete with the very best nationally. I think we are there off the field now we need to see the results on it, but I feel better than ever about our program supporters holding people accountable.

Very glad we made the move. The only mistake we made was not moving with Arkansas in 1992.

Our "broke university" will never see the money made possible with the sec network, that money will go to our already wealthy athletic department.

I don't regret the move to the SEC at all. Sure, the competition is difficult, but that is just part of the bargain.

The fact that there is a league office and commissioner who is attempting to make decisions in the best interest of the conference as a whole is much appreciated by A&M fans. I think the success of the SEC Network is a vindication of that approach.
