I think our acceptance rate is skewed due to vet school being extremely difficult to get into if I’m not mistaken. Not sure any program is all that difficult to get into at ole miss.

Chicken should've euthanized the Dawg Rant instead of allowing them to migrate over here

Show me where Ole Miss has a top 5 accounting program.

I live in Atlanta and I know tons of accountants that went to UGA. Are you seriously this stupid? Oh yeah, you are because you went to Ole Miss

Most SEC schools are this way:
Ole Miss 98%
Kentucky 95%
Alabama 80%
Arkansas 79%
Missouri 79%
LSU 76%
Oklahoma 73%
Mississippi State 70%
Tennessee 68%
South Carolina 64%
Texas A&M 63%
---
Auburn 44%
Georgia 43%
Texas 31%
Florida 23%
Vanderbilt 7%
All this proves is that many of these states use flagship universities to provide public education to their students. It's not a bad thing, and outside of Vanderbilt students/alums, it's a pretty ridiculous thing to talk shite about. I doubt there is a notable difference for the vast majority of students at Ole Miss versus Florida in terms of access to quality of education.

So you’re proud that the graduates from your school are dumb and lazy?

UGA has a 37% acceptance rate in 2025.

That's because college has become accessible to people who have no business there.

I dont care.
Proud?
I just focus on the actual results of the policy.
We have a campus full of rich kids from all over the south who couldn't score a 30 on their ACT.
You may not know this so I'll let you in on what isn't a secret....
Its not what you know, it's who you know.
They will be rich donors eventually. It is what it is.

Isn’t Georgia’s acceptance rate so low
because the lottery is used to fund college
tuition for students ?

why does the state set acceptance standards and that is not the case in other states?
Posted on 10/13/25 at 11:48 am to Rebelinexile
Yeah, the Hope Scholarship. It was genius idea to keep bright students from leaving the state. Why has Mississippi been too stupid to copy the idea?

Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) Board controls this within Mississippi and is pretty much DEI before DEI was a thing.

Crazy that they can’t drive worth a shite considering the lofty acceptance criteria…. Almost as if there’s no correlation between UGA acceptance and actual brain function of their students. If Ole Miss wins there should be bark collars handed out to wear until next time.
Keep those hell cats and scat packs in check you damn morons

Probably because attendance at the Universities is already putting a strain on
resources. Ole Miss attendance was up
11% in 2024and I think MSU and USM
would show healthy increases also. Free
tuition would be adding fuel to the fire.

State's try to keep kids in-State various ways. North Caroline requires public universities to have 90% of their incoming class be in-state. It's just what Mississippi chose

lol. That looks like a totally reputable list.

You're lying. I've been in Public accounting for 10 years and there are plenty of UGA grads. We're you at Big 4 or some small regional firm? BDO Atlanta was like 30% UGA grads when I was there. GT had a bunch of UGA grads too.
