The other day I was just about to assault someone and break into someone else’s house. If I hadn’t remembered I was an adult in that moment, no telling where I’d be today. It’s hard man.

You're assuming some of these kids have parent(s). Over 75% only have one. American taxpayers are the other one.

Probably his point. Job of the parents. Our problem there are a bunch of absent and/or terrible parents

Reminds me of when Ron artest was asked what it meant to have integrity, and he replied that he had been meaning to ask someone about that word because he didn’t know what it meant. Sad.

Nobody? Seriously, not one person in your inner circle? Culture!

When you consider the population he is speaking to, it is very much a profound and necessary statement. Going to prison in a particular culture is a right of passage and a badge of honor. They need to hear this

I think they need to hear that it’s a decision. Le’Veon seems to be framing it like it’s this thing you have to struggle with every day. You just make a hard choice, and yeah it can be difficult to turn your back on people you care about and the only culture you understand, but you only have to do it once. “I won’t do hoodrat stuff with my friends anymore”. Tada, now be done with it and enjoy life on the right side of the wall.

Over emotional people with low impulse control never think about the repercussions.
